Just A Goat

From time to time people often tell me, "lighten up, it's just a goat". Or "that's a lot of money for just a goat". They don't understand the distance traveled, time spent or costs involved for "Just a Goat". Some of my proudest moments have come about with "Just a goat." Many hours have passed with my company being "Just a goat" and not once have I felt slighted. Some of my saddest moments were brought about by "Just a goat". In those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "Just a goat" provided comfort and purpose to overcome the day.

If you too think it's "Just a goat", you too will probably understand phrases like "Just a friend", "Just a sunrise" or "Just a promise". "Just a goat" brings into my life the very essense of friendship, trust and pure unbridled joy. "Just a goat" brings out the compassion and patience that makes me a better person. Because of "Just a goat" I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly into the future.

For me and folks like me, it's not "Just a goat". It's an embodiment of all hopes, and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past and the pure joy of the moment. "Just a goat" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.

So the next time you hear the phrase, "Just a goat" smile because they "Just don't understand."

It’s amazing when you think about it.

We can sit on an airplane without ever meeting the pilot and trust we’ll reach our destination. We can board a ship without knowing the captain and believe we’re in good hands.

Yet somehow, when life gets turbulent, we struggle to trust the One who created the heavens and the earth.

Faith isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about knowing the One who does.

God sees what we cannot. He knows every detour, every storm and every destination before we ever arrive. When we surrender our fears to Him, we can find peace even when life feels uncertain.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5–6

Whatever you’re facing today, remember this: the same God who has carried you this far is not about to let go now. Trust the Captain of your soul. He has never lost His way.

Your words are never “just words.”

They are seeds.

Every conversation, every comment, every whisper to yourself plants something. Seeds of hope or fear. Kindness or criticism. Life or discouragement.

The beautiful thing about seeds is that they always grow into something.

Before you speak, ask yourself:
Is what I’m about to say planting peace, love and encouragement or something I’ll wish I’d never sown?

And don’t forget the words you speak to yourself matter just as much as the words you speak to others. Your heart is listening.

Today, choose words that heal. Choose words that inspire. Choose words that reflect the goodness you hope to harvest tomorrow.

Because the life we cultivate often begins with the seeds we plant through our words.

There comes a moment when you stop settling for what drains you and start making room for what helps you grow.

When you truly believe you deserve peace, you begin walking away from chaos. When you believe you deserve respect, you stop accepting less. When you believe you deserve love, you stop chasing what was never meant for you.

The way you see yourself shapes the life you’re willing to accept.

Know your worth not because of what you’ve accomplished but because you were created with purpose and value. The moment you begin believing that, you’ll be amazed at what starts finding its way into your life.

Believe in the good that’s ahead of you. Sometimes the biggest change begins with simply believing you are worthy of it.

Too often we call it “luck” when it’s really the hand of God quietly making a way.

That unexpected blessing. That closed door that protected you. That strength you didn’t know you had. That peace that showed up in the middle of the storm.

Those aren’t accidents. They’re reminders that God is faithful.

Be mindful of the words you speak over your life. Scripture tells us, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” (Proverbs 18:21)

Every time you choose faith over fear, hope over doubt and truth over lies, you’re planting seeds that honor the God who keeps His promises.

And maybe the hardest part… letting go.

Some of us are still gripping the very thing that’s hurting us while asking God to take away the pain. But you can’t keep holding the sharp end of the knife while asking the Great Physician to heal the wound. Sometimes healing begins the moment we surrender.

Trust Him enough to release what He never intended for you to carry.

God’s provision is not luck. His timing is not coincidence. His promises are still true.

Have faith. Speak life. Surrender what weighs you down. God is already working in ways you cannot yet see.

Do not wait until the end of your life to realize how much life was waiting inside today.

Sometimes we get so focused on what’s next that we forget to notice what’s already here. The laughter. The little moments. The people we love. The sunrise. The quiet cup of coffee. The unexpected blessing tucked inside an ordinary day.

You don’t have to have everything figured out to enjoy your life.

You don’t have to wait until things are perfect to be grateful.

And you certainly don’t have to wait for “someday” to start living.

Today is a gift. Open it. 🌷

Laugh a little louder. Love a little deeper. Take the picture. Make the memory. Say the words. Dance in the kitchen. Sit in the sunshine. Choose joy where you can.

Because one day, you may look back and realize…

These ordinary days were the extraordinary life you were praying for.

So breathe deeply, be present and make today count.

Your life isn’t waiting for you somewhere in the future.

The birds singing. The wind moving through the trees. The sounds of life happening all around you.

You don’t have to solve tomorrow right now. You don’t have to replay yesterday. You only have to be here.

This moment is your life.

So pause. Tune in. Notice the little things. Let yourself be present for the beautiful, ordinary miracle of right now.

Sometimes peace isn’t found by going somewhere new…
