Extra time never goes to waste on a wedding day. It's the difference between photographing the essentials vs having the luxury to explore creative ideas for more unique photos. Gerry & Anna gave me an opportunity to capture a new twist on bride and groom portraits at The Columns which I had only pictured in my mind before. Thankful to all the couple's I work with for giving me the chance to capture moments like these!

Revisiting a concept from one of my favorite photos taken here on Emily & Will's wedding day. While this combination of images was not as well coordinated as my overlay with Bobby & Marilyn, I'm happy to have caught it even if only on the fly since it's given a bit of inspiration for the next shoot!

Another venue review from the perspective of a wedding photographer. This time for The English Manor. I've worked here plenty of times but only had the pleasure to photograph it once in the role of a primary photographer. I'm looking forward to working here again as the role of a primary come September! In summary, this is one of my favorite venues. The staff is incredibly welcoming, the venue offers a variety of great photos-locations on premise (especially outside), there are great photo-locations off premises (Asbury Park, Allaire State Park etc...) all close by, and last but not least the food is amazing. A bit different from my usual, but I did finally buy a fog machine and am excited to get some more creative styled shots using it. Photo taken with one light (grid + red gel) from behind and above at 45° angled down.

While making some much needed revisions to my website, I decided to write up a venue review of Hotel LBI from the perspective of a wedding photographer. I had attempted to post a similar review via google but have encountered repeated error messages (even after downsizing the photo quality and lessening the number of photos I include in the review post). I hope to do more venue reviews like this. As a photographer approaching new venues & locations in general I always appreciate seeing how those before me have approached the destination.
