From the moment I met Katie & Shane, I knew their connection would be a gift to photograph. We started off the morning slow with warm coffee from and by the end were throwing our heads back laughing as we ran away from the relentless rising tide. Forever thankful to witness love in motion — for the sandy shoes, wind tossed hair and every tender moment.

Andrew and Cameron originally came to me about doing a session wearing some of our grandfather’s old coats. He rode motorcycles, lived on the beach, had long grey hair and always smelled like sweet incense and ci******es. ⁠
⁠
We ended up doing a multi-part shoot, and while I thought photographing the coats would be the most inspiring, what I ended up loving the most was our time spent in this little corner, curled up to a big sun-flooded window.⁠

I'm so excited to share part 2 and 3 of this shoot, but for now here's a shot that encompasses how most of this day felt. Tangled in soft embraces and gentle love.

It’s all an unraveling.
I know deep in my being I am
thankful —
for the growth that springs

capacity I receive.

and I imagine myself lying down on her surface —
rolling myself up in her like a human burrito.
I am enveloped.
I am safe.
I know this to be true:

After a 2 year hiatus away from this account, it feels so good to be back. 2021 was an unraveling like no other. Painful and beautiful and necessary. 2022, I can’t wait to see what kind of tender growth you usher all of us into.
