This story might be my favorite I have filmed so far, but also the most personal. This is Nina's father and brother, two of the most hard working men I have ever known. They are in laws legally but in truth they are just as much my family as my own. I have spent months in a two bedroom house with all three families together in Portugal, watched Nuno get married and become a father as well as the ups and downs that go with spending so much time with family. Big Nuno has taught me so many important life lessons and I am always amazed with his ability to fix anything. I couldn't put everything into this short video however I believe its strong and powerful. Coming Sunday the next story in my Blood Sweat and Fears series.

Many reasons led us to jumping ship and moving ten hours from home.
We realized that “home” is just another four letter word- home is established with those you cherish, wherever that may be.

Yes, many reasons why we Mississippi, but these two are at the tippy top. I think this little stinker on the left was the caveat for leaving Austin, TX. She was born during covid and when the world was crumbling around us, being with our family in Mississippi during quarantine proved that’s where we longed to be, permanently.

I see Austin has freezing temperatures today🥶🥶🥶 can’t say I wish I was there!

My hair hasn’t seen a good day since we moved but I’ll take the milder weather any day✨

I love living around the corner from this beautiful park! This special session was a Christmas gift to their parents and I’m so glad we waited for the perfect weather!

At 7:31am twelve years ago, I was born.

As was she.

But the person I was before her arrival vanished into thin air the second she breathed her first breath.
She was the most beautiful, chunky, round little baby and a happy, content little thing at that.
Amelia is someone that is high on life.
An adventure speaker.
She knows what she’s worth and then adds tax.
Aware of what she brings to the table and not afraid to eat alone.
Of course she is a horrible housekeeper, has a short fuse and is competitive to fault.

Some times she does things and it’s like looking at 12 year old me. Her mannerisms mock my own, yet she is equal parts Travis, right down to a crooked middle toe.

Raising her has been one of the biggest blessings of a lifetime and she gives me so much grace when I’m falling short, as we are growing up together.
Twelve years ago today my little spitfire was born.

As was I.

I remember in college, Travis would have to help me day in and day out with lighting. IT NEVER CLICKED. Once a flash was involved it’s like my brain turned into mush- it honestly took me years to understand off camera flash for receptions. But not Travis…he could set up multiple flashes, without a single test shot, and have his lighting perfect. It was a mathematical equation he could solve. I think that’s why we made such a good team for so long- I rely on my ability to adjust to organic surroundings and am far more artistic, while Travis works very methodically and analytically. It doesn’t take much to figure out who answers emails and does taxes🥴 Travis did such a beautiful session with this ballerina and his understanding of light shines through the images✨ I’ll never stop being his biggest cheerleader 📸
