Meet Sarah and Dave, vacationers turned future Gulf Shores locals 🌊🐚 After almost 10 years of memories at Blue Lagoon, they're officially building a home here and starting their next chapter on the coast.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐮𝐥𝐟 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚 𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲?

"Dave went on a fishing trip and met the owner of the lodge and he had just built a house on Fort Morgan and told him about the beautiful beaches and the great weather and how great the people were here. So we booked a long weekend and stayed at the Sanibel to check it out-what the heck it was early November and the weather was still like summer!"

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞/ 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡?

"It seemed like everywhere you went people knew of Blue Lagoon drive so you instantly felt welcome in your home away from home. Also when you walked on the beach either in the morning to find washed up treasures or at night catching ghost crabs with flashlights it always felt like our beach."

𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮?

"Originally our house was the Model house for the neighborhood. While we were at the Sanibel we booked an early morning fishing trip, dropped our catch off at Mike's and headed back to the Sanibel, only Dave drove passed it and we turned into Blue Lagoon drive and the house had a for sale sign in the yard -why not call the number and just look! Gulf Shores was already growing on us. The gal that owned the property was terrific and we have remained friends, but Dave contacted her after we got home and they struck a deal but she needed it closed on before the end of the tax year, by golly we made that happen.”

"It seemed like we spent more time taking care of the property to keep it in good shape than we ever did just relaxing and enjoying so we decided that Retirement Plan needed to kick in. We have a new build in mind to enjoy and are looking forward to having our friends and family come to enjoy Gulf Shores."

This review sums up our goal for every session. We're not just here to take pictures. We want to capture the emotion, the laughter, the connection, and the love between your family. We understand that you may only get the entire family together once every few years, so this vacation means a LOT to you.

It's Fat Tuesday! If you're on the Alabama Gulf Coast, there are two parades today. The Gulf Shores Mardi Gras Parade rolls at 10 a.m., then the Orange Beach Parade is at 2:00 this afternoon.

🎭 📿 The City of Gulf Shores will host its 47th Annual Mardi Gras Parade on Fat Tuesday, February 17, at 10 a.m. The parade will begin at Clubhouse Drive and will continue south to the intersection of Highway 59 and Beach Boulevard (Highway 182).

Beginning at 10 a.m.
• Parade begins at the intersection of Clubhouse Drive and Highway 59 and proceeds south to Highway 182/Beach Boulevard.

Traffic flow will return to normal once the parade concludes and barricades are removed.
