It should come as no surprise, that I find many life lessons illustrated in my photography. Today was lesson 559 in accepting what is right in front of me, instead of being bummed out that it was not what I expected it would be. I was EXPECTING totally calm water with crystal clear reflections... So, I almost gave up and left the drone on the ground when I found that a gentle wind was already blowing across Grand Lake, OK when I arrived this morning. However, once the drone was up in the air, I found that the wind was actually painting beautiful subtle textures and colors across the water. Turns out that I have lots of crystal clear reflection images, but none quite like the softly colored textures that Grand Lake showed me today. Here's to letting go of expectations, no matter how many times it takes... Enjoy, RC

Grand Lake offers so many wildlife opportunities!!! Sometimes you go for the photographer's magic number of "3". Other times, you go for the total number of birds, and species of birds (Check out the flock of Terns just behind the Pelicans in the second image). But, one way or another, there's always plenty to float a photographer's boat on Grand Lake, OK. Enjoy, RC

"I have begun doing some photo work for the Regatta on Grand RV Resort and the Drift Restaurant on Grand Lake, OK. I have to admit that they have some of the best views in town. Heck, if I had an RV, I might book a night out there myself, just for their Happy Hour Margarita Delivery Service and a sunset soak in that fantastic, elevated hot tub. Enjoy, RC.

Wow!! Talk about a beautiful and expansive venue... Last night Shangri-La hosted an outdoor concert at the Battlefield Golf course on Monkey Island. It featured rising country star, Ian Munsick. The combination of a gorgeous night and wonderful music, made for a captivating event, indeed. I for one, hope that there are many more to come. Enjoy, RC

Once again the Art Festival at Food Truck Friday was a huge success. The weather was great, the music was wafting, the food was delicious, the people were getting in the summer time groove, and Grove, OK looked great. Way to go all!! Enjoy, RC
