Last night we had what some of my photo friends would call a "Reverse Sunset", over Grove, OK. That is, the vista looking toward the setting sun did not really have that much to offer, but turning the drone to look the other direction, revealed some really killer cloud development, that lasted quite a long time, and went through some nice changes. I love our City of Grove. It has wonderful wildlife, water sports, bull riding fishing tournaments, etc. However, it also hosts wonderful events that many people have never heard of, things like International Dot Day, which was celebrated, today, by roughly 432 Grove first, second, and third graders.
Dot Day is celebrated annually on September 15th to encourage creativity, courage, and collaboration, and it began when Iowa teacher Terry Shay introduced his classroom to Peter H. Reynolds' book The Dot on September 15, 2009.
The Dot is the story of a caring teacher who dares a doubting student to trust in her own abilities by being brave enough to “make her mark”. What begins with a small dot on a piece of paper becomes a breakthrough in confidence and courage, igniting a journey of self-discovery and sharing, which has gone on to inspire countless children and adults around the globe.

Last night's Cruise Night and Car Show got off to an excellent beginning with cool cars, cool music, and great food. Here are a couple of vehicles I enjoyed, with some comments as part of each photo. And, BTW, doesn't our Grand Lake, OK, always add its own bit of magic to whatever activity comes our way...? Go Grove!! Enjoy, RC.
