MAFO photography in the beginning...

my artistic leanings were encouraged from the get go. my grandpa was a photographer and a designer and my mom is an artist and a designer.

when my mom takes it back to 'in the day,' she likes to say she had trouble disciplining us for coloring someplace inappropriate or cutting the table cloth, etc., b/c they were expressions of our artistic talents (what a hippie :) ). and now…

i prefer natural light but adjust to meet the needs of my clients and artistic inspiration. i strive to make my portraits speak to the personalities of the

people in them. i want a parent to look at my pictures years from now and remember exactly what their ‘all-grown up’ kids were like when they were ‘that age.’ i like to think of my pictures bringing up more than an image; i want the feeling of a special day, the sound of a toddler’s giggle, the baby smell of a newborn to spring up when looking back at the images i capture. un-posed, significant, caught moments make for the most beautiful, worthwhile pictures. everyone…

everyone deserves to have their special moments captured but it can be expensive. i certainly understand that the luxury of hiring a photographer is just that…a luxury. therefore, it is important that your session and the resulting images are worth it. my aim is to provide a studio photography experience with closer to sears portrait studio prices. i will work with you on a personalized package that best fits your budget and memory capturing needs. in addition, great pictures aren’t the end of a photographer’s job…pictures displayed are so much more enjoyable than a cd sitting on a shelf…so after the pictures are taken and all the editing done, i will stick around to help you create a standout, creative way to display and share your moments.
