On the day of generational minis a 89 year old woman made a comment as she left about having pictures taken, “a person doesn’t like to do it, but you’re always glad you did.”

It doesn’t have to be in front of my camera, but get the people you love in front of one. Even if they grumble and complain, even if everyone is always busy, get them in front of a camera. Take pictures, record their voices, and most importantly- tell them you love them.

In the last four years I’ve lost both my parents and my grandfather, in that time my grandma was also diagnosed with dementia. The four most influential people in my life, all slipping away in what felt like a blink of an eye. I’m not sharing this for sympathy or to be somber. We will all lose someone we love in life. That’s a given. But thankfully, their love stays. We of course don’t need pictures to be reminded of that love, and in fact, sometimes looking at pictures of people we’ve lost can be difficult. I have hundreds of pictures of my parents and grandparents, and I’m thankful for every one of them. I’m also thankful for the generations of love I’ve been surrounded by. While all those pictures I have can’t possibly encompass all that love I’ve been given, I’m really grateful for the reminders.

All this to say, I urge you to grab your parents or grandparents or an aunt or uncle or whoever it is who has showered you with love over the years and consider booking a session on March 8th for the generational minis. Or really, just any time. I’m all about generations of love in front of my camera. Don’t let it slip by. 🩶

Mini sessions are a quick and easy way to get some great photos. I’ll be offering the following in the studio:

March 8th: GENERATIONAL (these are aimed for older generations. Pictures shouldn’t stop when your kids are grown. Grab your parents and grandparents if you’re lucky enough to still have them and grab a spot. I promise you’ll come away with photos you’ll forever cherish. Kids are of course welcome too ♥️)

March 15th: SPRING (think bright, light and flowers 🌷)

April 12th & 19th: MOTHER’S DAY (this one’s for the mamas, whether she wants updated family pics, of just the kids, or even of just her ✨ )

I’ve done a few sessions here and there recently so I’ve been asked if I’m back at doing photography- to which I’m super hesitant to reply. I had gotten to a place where I wasn’t excited about it anymore when I chose to step back. But I’ve been excited about sessions again and that feels good. So yes. I’m back to photography, to an extent. Sessions I’m currently willing to take on: seniors, headshots/branding and newborns. If you’re interested in any one of these sessions please don’t hesitate to reach out.
