There are so many moving parts behind the scenes at JAGstudios, and one of our favorite things lately has been sharing a little more about the people who help bring it all to life. ✨
Next up? Nicki Doherty. Thoughtful, creative, and an important part of the energy that keeps everything flowing around here.
What is your role at JAG?
I lead and maintain our post-production workflows, from master retouching and custom album + artwork design to collaborating directly with our artisan partners. I also develop and maintain the editing and workflow systems that keep JAGstudios evolving creatively and technically, while still holding onto the highly personal, custom experience our clients know us for.
How does photography inspire you?
Photography holds a special power as a medium. A single photograph can hold so much at once. Memory, emotion, connection, beauty, chaos. One frame can say things words never could.
What is a fun fact about you that may surprise people?
I had four kids in five years. Jacklyn has jokingly introduced me as, “This is my head of post production, and she has 85 kids.” 😂
What is your favorite way to start the day?
Coffee. If there’s no coffee, there’s no Nicki. I’d love to tell you I start my mornings with 32 ounces of filtered water, fresh eggs from my chicken coop, and an hour of yoga, but that is absolutely not my reality. There are no chickens. Just a cup of coffee roughly the size of my head while I herd children out the door before work.
What is one thing you can’t live without?
I live for my kiddos and husband.
What is the best piece of advice someone has given you?
“No matter where you go, there you are.”
