Often I’m in the middle of a session and I catch myself thinking…

how is this my job?

To be trusted with your children… not just once, but over and over again.

I had a mama share in her questionnaire that this was their fourth session with me…
and I just sat with that for a second.

Because that kind of trust?
It’s not something I ever take lightly.

And then I read your messages.

Not just about the photos
but about how your children felt.

That they had fun.
That they felt comfortable.
That they left asking to come back.

That you see them in these images.

That’s the part that stays with me.

This is never just about getting a “good picture.”

It’s about creating something that feels like your child something you’ll look back on and say, that was so them.

And being invited into your lives to do that…
it truly means the world to me.

She pulled it right back down over her eye.

…and this ended up being one of my favorite images from her entire session.

Why?

Because this is all her.

This is exactly why I ask you not to correct your child during their session.
The little things they do on their own? That’s where the magic is.

Nothing I say is a requirement, just a suggestion.
Because I’m not here to control the moment…

I’m here to capture who they are.

but I also didn’t build this brand around “perfect.”
I built it around them. Snakes included.

I don’t ask children to say “cheese” or smile.

After photographing 4,000+ children, I can spot a fake smile a mile away — and most of the time, asking a child to smile gives you exactly that.

A smile for the camera.
Not a smile that feels like them.

The expressions you see here didn’t come from a prompt. They came from understanding who this child is before we ever started shooting.

That’s why the questionnaire matters so much to me.
It helps me walk into a session already knowing how your child connects, warms up, and shows up in the world — so I’m not asking them to perform, I’m meeting them where they are.

Anyone can ask for a smile.
The work is creating space for the real one.

bring it. 🤍

These little comfort buddies are the unsung heroes of some of our sessions.
They help shy kids settle in, give nervous hands something familiar to hold, and create a sense of safety before the camera ever matters.

Some kids hold them tight the whole time.
Some set them down once they’re comfortable.
Some need them for just a minute.

All of it is welcome here.

This isn’t about forcing smiles or rushing bravery — it’s about meeting kids exactly where they are and letting comfort lead the way. 🖤

Both are absolutely perfect. 🎪

Bold Little Lions is for the wildly imaginative, the costume-wearers, the eye-roll givers, the barefoot thinkers and the ones who turn a photo session into a full-on performance.

Because these sessions aren’t about being still or smiling on command —

They’re about personality, however it shows up:
