We finally made our way over to the tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi River! Whitewater falls was showing off this morning! I figured tropical storm Zeda would’ve knocked off most of the leaves, but there was still plenty to bask in! Happy Halloween everyone 🎃👻

I can see why Linville Falls is the most photographed waterfall in North Carolina! It was a breathtaking sight after all the leftover rain bands from hurricane Sally. The colors are already starting to change in some areas of the Parkway! Soon enough, fall will be here and all this green will be gone. Where are you visiting to see fall colors this year? 🍂

We got a chance to watch the sunset before the rain moved in on Thursday. I had never driven this part of the Blue Ridge Parkway and it was amazing seeing the subtle differences between the south end of the Parkway and the highland North Carolina part! This overlook was beautiful! We really enjoyed watching the fog roll over Grandfather Mountain 🌅

As summer comes to a close I can’t help but to reflect on all the craziness of this year so far. We all have been tested to our limits with this pandemic and political division, leaving many of us (including me) ready to pull our hair out. But I know dawn will come, and it will be more beautiful than ever. So hang in there, remember to breath and enjoy the beauty of every moment as these long summer days start to wind down to an end. ☮️

It’s Waterfall Wednesday! I love how South Carolina keeps surprising me. This waterfall was definitely giving me Pacific Northwest vibes. Plus, it would make for an epic swimming hole on these hot summer days ☀️

Old Rag was said to be the most strenuous hike in Virginia and it definitely lived up to it! This hike required more upper body strength than I’ve ever needed on the trail. When we got above tree line, this was the first view we were given. We could see our upcoming route; Up. It was definitely daunting seeing the 1.5 miles of boulders ahead of us. Then the real climb began.

Nothing beats getting lost on a trail when you hadn’t even planned on hiking that day! But it sure was worth it to see these falls at golden hour 🌥

P.S. Can you spot Joel in this pic? 👀
