Thought I’d bump the goats from my last post down the grid to say — Merry Christmas! It’s been such a great year getting to do this meaningful work. I’m officially OOO (minus one more special, micro wedding celebration for a friend next weekend!) so if you need me, I’ll be making crafts, hanging with my people, and sitting in front of the Christmas tree as much as possible. | “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13

Quick break from wedding photo editing to remind you that this time last year I was crawling through kudzu with these guys and having a blast doing it. Thanks for the chance to make some goaty glamour shots. (Also, what’s this going to do to my algorithm? Let’s find out!)

If you know me, you know I am happiest among the flowers — growing them, arranging them, piddling in my garden, and dreaming of the next landscape project. So every time I get to spend a morning on the farm with Melissa of , it makes my whole month. She is a brilliant farmer, agriculturalist, artist, teacher, business woman, and person. Mornings on the farm > pretty much everything. And dahlias forever.

Sean and Katherine, from this past weekend. After a gorgeous ceremony in their little Anglican Church they trekked the steep staircase to the balcony. In an otherwise modest corner upstairs they yanked the heavy ropes to ring the church bells, flanked by technicolor stained glass, the bells pealing their laughter. When I think about their wedding I really can’t help but grin — the goodness of their day was so visceral. I cried tears of joy and worship during their ceremony, and later laughed so hard watching them celebrate and dance with all their people. Between the two acts of their celebration, they drove Katherine’s dad’s vintage car and I had the privilege of squeezing in the back seat to take in the effervescence of husband and wife, in the miraculous, newborn stage of marriage. What a wonder.

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted on this little app, and for some reason I thought I’d jump back in right as I’m heading into the busiest month I can remember. It’s been so nice to take a break from posting and relearn that I don’t have to shout and insist on my own relevance. I can just put my head down and do the work. Grow. I think that’s been true for the last 6ish months and I’m grateful for that.

That said, I’ve missed sharing my work! And I’ve missed seeing a lot of your lives, too. (And I’m still photographing, still booking for next year.)

Thought I’d start with some personal work. We had the immense privilege of traveling to Austria and Croatia last month — here’s a tiny blip of the glory that is Austria (Salzburg, here). A few random notes — one, I would never describe myself as a cat person, but Walter “pronounced Vahl-ter”, the AirBnB cat, wriggled his way into our collective hearts. Two — we got to see the abbey where the real Captain Von Trapp and Maria got married, also where the movie was filmed. During our time there, the nuns were singing and chanting from the upper room. Chills. Salzburg kind of reminded me of Florence or Paris, with the river running through the middle. 💙

It’s wedding weekend for Cecily & Jeff! I think it might be as cold this weekend as it was the weekend we did their engagement session. 2/2 baby. Let’s do this. 🧤
