One of the biggest things Iā€™m learning right now is how to stay in rhythm with making. I tend to create a body of work and then stop just as Iā€™m starting to scratch the surface. I still havenā€™t fully figured out why I struggle with thatā€¦ maybe itā€™s my attention span, or maybe itā€™s perfectionism.

Whatā€™s been surprising, though, is realizing Iā€™m actually capable of more when Iā€™m intentional about showing up for the process- instead of waiting for inspiration or momentum to magically appear.

Why quilt blocks?

My grandma used to quilt, and growing up I always remember the coveted blue patchwork quiltā€”the one that only came out on sick days, cold winter nights, or anytime we needed a little extra comfort.

To me, handmade objects carry that same kind of quiet weightā€”something familiar, grounding, and deeply human. They hold history, symbolism, and layers of meaning that go beyond function.

A quilt has always meant ā€œwelcome home.ā€
