Jessica Backer Photography I studied Portraiture, but I also enjoy Landscape and Nature photography. I love exploring small towns and capturing old and interesting places.

All photos belong to me unless stated otherwise. It started with a small point and shoot camera I saved up and bought when I was 13. I took it with me on all my trips; family vacations, school trips, camp, etc. Not only did I love capturing memories but I soon found that I enjoyed landscape photography. A few years later I became interested in portraiture, candid shots being my favorite as they ca

n be some of the most truest and special moments of all. Later I enrolled in New York Institute of Photography to further my knowledge of portraiture. That brings us to the year, 2020. A challenging year with its shutdowns and quarantines. All of my plans for photo shoots had to be put on a back burner, but photography still became my therapy. Instead of portrait shoots, I went back to my roots of capturing floral, nature and landscape, challenging myself to see things differently. Although this is not what I envisioned on my photography journey I have still come a long way from the 13-year-old with her little point and shoot camera.

Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Mark 10:14

This is the verse we use for children's ministries and outreach and 2 weeks ago (this Sunday) we did this very thing with our missionaries in the LA Mosqitia region of Honduras in an outreach our Church likes to call "Operation Backpack" where children come from all over and sing Bible songs and sit and hear the gospel and afterwards they receive a backpsck filled with school supplies, new testament in their language, and a little booklet and coloring book with the plan of salvation.

But this verse also came to mind when I got the news this morning that Jesus had taken this sweet girl, pictured above, home to be with him 🤍
Although it makes no sense to us why He would take one so young, who are we to withhold them when He calls them to His side.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4

God abides faithful.
He is faithful in His love; He knows no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
He is faithful to His purpose; He does not begin a work and then leave it undone.
He is faithful to His relationships; as a Father He will not renounce His children, as a Friend He will not deny His people, as a Creator He will not forsake the work of His own hands.
He is faithful to His promises and will never allow one of them to fail to a single believer.
He is faithful to His covenant, which He has made with us in Christ Jesus and ratified with the blood of His sacrifice.
He is faithful to His Son and will not allow His precious blood to be spilt in vain.
He is faithful to His people to whom He has promised eternal life and from whom He will not turn away.

The faithfulness of God is the foundation and cornerstone of our hope and final perseverance. The saints shall persevere in holiness, because God perseveres in grace.
