This is what I hope to give each of my clients for their engagements sessions with me: a mix of clean posed images that you can hang in your living room, movement and playfulness, close ups, wide scenery shots, maybe 1 or 2 with a little grain for a film feel, black and white images, and a deffffff sun rays (I’m a sucker for sun rays).

This morning session with Olivia and Hudson just did it for me as a creative and that morning light just hit different! Just stunning and dreamy. I think one thing that helps me help you to accomplish this is two things: prepping you before we start the session and encouraging you to lean into the photoshoot and have fun. Don’t take yourself too seriously. Secondly, you have to meet me half way and be willing to do that. Especially my male friends! At the start of this shoot Hudson said to me “I’m really just here for her really.” By the time we were almost wrapping up he said “I’m actually having a lot of fun!

The night before with Maggie and Huston. Some frames from Maire’s senior gallery. Senior year of high school is such a bittersweet time of your life. That transition from teenager to navigating the adult world soon can be filled with a lot of sadness & excitement at the same time. Figuring yourself out and what life holds next for you after this chapter closes. If you had a pretty bad high school experience you’re probably excited to close this chapter. If you enjoyed it you’re probably filled with a lot of sadness about closing this chapter. Either way it went for you better days are to come, trust.

I don’t do senior photos often but Maire’s mom was at a wedding I did last year and she goes to the high school I graduated from so I immediately was like yes let’s do it! 💌 I think every high school senior, if they can, should do these. There’s nothing like having photos to remember a moment in time in your life. They literally transport you right back to that season of life. You can remember where you were mentality, what songs you were listening to, even how the air smelled. Maybe I’ll do a giveaway soon for one? Or if you know someone who really wants them but can’t afford it, send them my way!
