I love how moody this photo looks because that’s exactly how the weather was that day. Kirkjufell is such a photogenic mountain, especially when surrounded by stormy skies. It’s a perfect contrast of blues and golds.

It’s funny how I can just skip past a photo initially while looking for “bangers” and completely miss the potential in a shot like this one. Every now and then I’ll look back through and spot one like this and just laugh at myself for missing it, like “what was I thinking?!”

Sometimes I get to do really cool things with really cool people!

Like this product/lifestyle photography session I did for a bicycle bag company named Po Campo. This is one of my best friends, Maria, and it just so happens that she is a marketing consultant for this brand. While working on an ad campaign for them, she recommended my photography services, and together we were able to produce these images and many more. I’m so grateful for their trust in me, and I genuinely enjoyed being a part of this project!

Which photo did you like the best?

Black volcanic sand. Vivid golden grass. Jagged peaks rising straight from the sea, cutting sharply against the moody North Atlantic sky.

Vestrahorn doesn’t whisper; she commands. Shaped by fierce winds and carved by time, raw and untamed… she is unmistakably, unapologetically Iceland.

Happy Anniversary, my love. ♥️

When we took this photo, I didn’t realize how fitting the location was for a 5th wedding anniversary and its traditional association with wood. Our love truly is like a tree, growing stronger and more deeply rooted with every passing year.

Our trusty Cozy Camper, this fully decked out rental camper van by , allowed us to travel and explore this wild and untamed land. I’m thankful we had such a wonderful vehicle, and I would 100% recommend checking them out if you’re planning a visit to Iceland. Here’s a collection of photos from around Snæfellsnes on day 3 of our trip. I had such a hard time moving from one place to the next simply because there was so much to see and photograph. I felt like the photo opportunities were endless. So did my wife, I’m sure 😅

Brúarfoss is one of Iceland’s most iconic waterfall systems. It’s famous for its incredibly and vividly blue glacial water; so much so, it’s often referred to as Iceland’s bluest waterfall. Brúarfoss is located in southern Iceland, along a 300 km scenic route called the Golden Circle. This particular section of the Brúará River flows through a deep and narrow gorge in the rock bed, which is actually a fissure caused by the constant seismic activity that over many years has formed and reshaped this northern Atlantic wonderland.

The Icelandic horse is an extremely versatile breed. These strong, intelligent and smooth horses are successful in many disciplines and can do well in endurance racing, carriage pulling and a great for therapeutic riding.

These horses are direct descendants of the original Viking horses and one of the purest horse breeds in the world. The breed has been isolated on the rugged island in the North-Atlantic since the settlement, or over 1000 years ago, hardly any genetic input from other breeds if any at all.

As the first settlers came to Iceland they could only bring a limited number of livestock with them, and most probably chose their very best animals. Thus, it is very likely that the Icelandic horse has its origin in a herd of preselected, high quality individuals who had to survive the rough trip on a Viking longship across the Atlantic, before taking on their role as “the most indispensable servant” for the first Icelanders in this vast, wild, and entirely unknown country.

This is the iconic black church of Búðir. Tucked away on Iceland’s windswept Snæfellsnes Peninsula, this minimalist black church stands out boldly against the grey skies and the golden turf-covered rocks. Though it was cold, rainy, and windy, this little spot somehow gave off a sense of calm and quiet, sharply contrasting what had been the majority of our outdoor experiences here.

Whale watching in Reykjavik was an unforgettable experience.

We boarded the Amelia Rose early in the morning and set out into the open sea. The weather was harsh: cold, rainy, and windy, but the cabin offered a warm, cozy refuge from the elements. After some time scanning the horizon, the captain and spotters announced a sighting. We moved in closer and were thrilled to discover not just one, but three humpback whales. Two were young, likely adolescents, while the third was an older, well-known visitor to the bay named Hump-frey.

Humpback whales are known for their acrobatic breaches and complex songs, which can travel great distances through the ocean. These massive marine mammals can grow up to 50 feet long and migrate thousands of miles each year between feeding and breeding grounds. A fun fact: each humpback’s song is unique and can last up to 20 minutes. Some even repeat the same tune for hours.

We were lucky enough to get close and capture a few decent photos. For me, this was a first, a milestone moment. Seeing one of the ocean's most magnificent creatures up close is something I’ll never forget. 🐋

Where the land ends and the wild North Atlantic begins. Perched on the edge of Iceland’s Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Svörtuloft Lighthouse stands against crashing waves and relentless winds—guiding sailors through these rugged, volcanic shores. This place is raw, untamed, and absolutely breathtaking. Who’s ready to chase the wild?
