It’s that part of summer where I am wishing for more time and also ready for schedules to resume and also just hoping and praying that I did right by this season. We entered a whole other season of busy this summer and I’ll be honest…I was not prepared. And while you can never really prepare for when that next chapter of parenting begins (because there are so many!), I have at least learned enough as a mom to recognize that we started something new and I have to adjust fast. I still miss the slow summers of endless pool days and longer naps and being in control of our days, but I have also loved trying to learn this moment of varied schedules and interests and never ending days and nights and great big kid conversations and lots of friends…happy almost end of summer!!! Soak it in (or don’t) the best way you know how!

*Thankful to these girls for being my location scout partners this week! Definitely makes everything more fun to have them around.*

About Me Friday (maybe I should make that a regular thing?...probably not, but we’ll do it today because my mom sent me her favorite toddler photo of me and it needed to be shared 💕):

There are 6 of us in this household. We have 1 giant dog and 9 chickens (yes 9!) and my kids are currently trying to convince me that we NEED another dog. Wally may be the most incredible dog now, but If anyone remembers how horrible a puppy he was, you know we know better. 😜

Somewhere in my 20’s espresso eyeliner entered my life and I will never ever not use it every day again. A friend once told me she thought it was tattooed on because she had never seen me without it.

I have made a commitment (to myself) to be more physically present each day. Honestly, it’s hard to do when most days my free time feels limited and at the end of the day all I really want to do is mindlessly scroll on my phone and check out. BUT I’M TRYING. I’ve recently taken social media off my phone (no more mindlessly scrolling available late night) and I have been finding ways to physically relax with other creative things like crafting (yes, crafting)...nothing complicated allowed because then it wouldn’t be relaxing, but some paper making, coloring, bread baking, painting...up next is CLAY! (My older kids think this is all a bit extreme and comment regularly on what I may be up to today!) Oh, and Righteous Gemstones is our winter binge watch and IT IS AMAZING!
