The Tick population and Lyme disease is increasing at an alarming rate across our country,
Mostly due to our planets warming climate,
I thought I would share this meme I came across yesterday.
So if you see an opossum on your property,
DO NOT chase him off or harm him!
He could very well prevent you or a family member from getting Lyme disease.
They also do not carry rabies and are not aggressive. They will hiss and show their teeth if you approach them, but they will not attack you.
Although If you have a pear tree, they will eat every single pair off of it though! I know this from experience they love pears!

1st Photo not mine

2nd Photo is mine of an opossum in my backyard.

Whether you are looking for towering spires, natural arches, or unearthly hoodoos, you have countless uniquely individual scenic destinations to explore within a short distance from each other. I am definitely looking forward to returning here again soon. 👣🥾🌎❤️

Meet Zelda! She is my 22nd Dambo Troll I have visited. We found her surrounded by a maze of hair created from twigs and plants at the Huntsville Botanical Garden in Alabama. She is so beautiful!
An artist from Denmark named Thomas Dambo has created 172 of these amazing wood sculptures worldwide, and they have a mission to inspire humanity to protect nature, reduce waste, and reconnect with the environment by creating whimsical, large-scale sculptures from recycled materials.
I have added a link below to his Troll Map website where you can see the location of all 172 trolls around the world. Some of the sculptures are permanent and others are temporary residents and move to various locations throughout the year. Check out the map and maybe you will find that there is a troll near you are near a destination you will be visiting in the near future. They are worth the detour. It is so fun watching the children interact with the trolls! They really love them.

One of my favorite places to visit in the spring is the Washington DC Cherry Blossom festival. We have been attending it every year for the past 8 years. I never seem to tire of it.
Strolling on the Capital Mall and visiting the monuments can be very humbling and thought-provoking. It reminds me of how much others that came before us have sacrificed to allow us to live the life we live today and how we should work even harder to prevent these privileges from being taken for granted or stripped from us by those who want to capitalize by revoking these rights. For this reason, this memorial is always on the top of my list to visit every time I am in Washington DC.
Happy Martin Luther King Day
May you always appreciate the Freedom and Democracy that others have fought so hard for to make sure you live in a country free of oppression and tyranny.

I didn’t realize how long it has been since I posted! I must admit that my new hobby of Silversmithing has been causing my camera to collect dust lately. I need to get back to sharing more pictures. I will share some pictures of the jewelry I have been working on soon. Have a great day!

If you would have told me 12 years ago that I would be traveling around the country to go to Motocross races and actually enjoying it I would have laughed and laughed. I have never been much into spectator sports and have never been interested in racing. I could never figure out what the attraction was watching them drive in circles around the same track over and over! How boring. Well it only took one race and the opportunity to be able to get up close and with my camera and I was hooked! 😆I have to admit I am more into photographing the riders than knowing their stats ,but wow it has turned out to be a very exciting event to watch and photograph. I already can't wait until we go on our next race vacation! Glendale and Sedona Arizona!

Along the scenic Vermillion Cliffs Road, also known as highway 89, in Marble Canyon is a very interesting roadside attraction known as the Cliff Dwellers Stone House. Cliff Dwellers’ history goes back to the late 1920’s during the Great Depression when a couple named Bill and Blanche Russel decided to head west to set up home in the dry desert in hopes that it’s benefits would give Bill some relief from his tuberculosis.
On their journey out west, their car broke down near these giant balancing boulders. After many attempts to repair their automobile, they decided to stay the night. The beauty of the Vermillion Cliffs captivated them, and they decided to stay and build their home here. Over time they built a trading post which was very successful, and later expanded into a full-scale restaurant and gas station.
Many of their customers were Mormons traveling through the area along the honeymoon trail. The Mormons would travel from Arizona to Utah and stop at Bill and Blanches restaurant for a bite to eat before they would continue on along the Honeymoon Trail on their way to the temple in St. George, Utah, where they would have their marriages sanctified. It was also a popular stop for tourists on their way to the Grand Canyon.
Many of the original structures still stand today and it is definitely worth a stop to explore this beautiful and historic roadside attraction if you are in the area.
I had fun lighting up the house with my flashlight and shooting some Milkyway shots while we were there.

Crowley Lake Columns
Traveling through the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains near the small town of Bishop Ca. is an incredibly unique body of water named Crowley Lake. On the shores of Crowley lake you can hike and explore the massive columns created by old volcanic activity which are some of the most stunning rock formations in the United States.
In the expanded view of the lake you can see the columns on the bottom left of picture.
We loved this hike and had a great time exploring the beautiful landscape. The columns also offered a nice shady spot to rest before moving on.
