Something I tell my clients all the time…”You never hear people say ‘I’ve taken too many pictures with my loved ones’ Yet you hear often ‘I wish I had taken more’”

Time is fleeting, your babies are growing up so fast. Your bodies are changing. You’re growing older. People you love are here and sometimes there are so many reasons you don’t see them as much whether it be moving away, life getting busy, growing older or going home to Jesus. For Nicole’s bridal session she told me she had a second dress she wanted a few pictures in at the end. She started in her gown…glittery, lacey, a huge ballgown giving princess vibes. She quickly changed and came out in her MOM’s dress 😭 Lace, satin, ruffles, and a big bow…princess vibes of a different time. Her mom wasn’t at the bridal session and that was all done purposefully as Nicole kept this secret and printed these photos to gift her mom for the wedding. A special heartfelt gesture that meant the world. One generation to the next. A legacy of love and commitment will continue to live on in Nicole and Damien. It’s been beautiful to witness.

When I was a kid I heard people say “Don’t forget to stop and smell the roses” You heard it too right? Just kids thinking all the grown ups were so old with all of their old sayings. We often just pushed past like they weren’t saying the most significant things. Now I’m a grown up and when I stop to smell the roses I see just how beautiful life really is. It’s the sun coming through unexpectedly that puts you in awe of the beautiful things God has created, it’s the chirping of the birds, the barista who remembers your name, the grandpa whistling as he shops for groceries, the smell of fall that makes it feel like home, finding the restaurant with homemade ranch, seeing siblings wrestling and giggling in public and it’s finding the one you love. The one that you call when you’re in trouble and when you’re not, the one that greets you with a hug after a long day at work. The one that rolls their eyes when you try to act like you weren’t just sassy but even in that moment it feels good to be seen. The one who uplifts you. Remembers your take out order. The one who is by your side through all of life’s craziness and the one you build your home and family with. Those are the roses and the garden is never ending.

Looking at these two and what a powerhouse of perseverance they are is a beautiful thing and I’m so blessed to watch as their life continues to grow together. I can’t wait to see them walk down the aisle in October as MR. And MRS!!!! Whoop whoop! ♥️♥️♥️

I sat here going through songs to pick for this post trying to find the perfect one to describe Michael and Cerisa. I couldn’t find the song that is juuuust right until I came across THIS song. Michael and Cerisa share a love that is rare. Knowing their story, knowing their prayers, knowing their dreams and how God has had a hand in their story from the beginning…it’s beautiful to witness. I read all of the lyrics and I picked out all of the lines that I felt perfectly describes who they are to each other from the outside looking in…
