Last time I photographed Annelise, she was 12. Kinda quiet. A little shy. Standing in a field holding a plastic polka dot umbrella in one of my favorite images I’ve ever taken.

Now? A senior with confidence, quick wit, curls for days, and so much personality.

Watching that kind of change through my lens never gets old. One minute they’re nervous tweenagers and the next they’re making me laugh the entire session and owning who they are. Love that so much. ✨♥️

(And the coal pit never lets me down with its fun pockets of light.💡)

As we walked into the flower field, Molly Ruth said almost casually, “I’ve been waiting for this my whole life.”

And I swear I blacked out for a second. 😂

But truly…that stayed with me. Because for these seniors, this season isn’t just “taking pictures.” They’ve imagined it for years. The outfits, the location, the excitement, the feeling of finally being here.

I feel that responsibility deeply every time I pick up my camera. Not just to take beautiful images, but to give them a full experience. A memory. A moment that feels as special as they hoped it would.

Getting to witness that excitement up close never gets old for me. 🌸

(And if you’re lucky, my mom might tag along and create any sort of mischief with your mom.)🤪

This time of year is always a lot. Like a lot a lot.

For seniors, it’s countdowns and big feelings and trying to be everywhere with everyone. For moms and dads, it’s packed calendars, graduation plans, deadlines, parties, college prep, emotions sneaking up out of nowhere and realizing their kid is somehow already a young adult.

And for me? It’s busy season too.

The last few weeks have been a blur of weather reschedules, outfit planning, editing marathons, a head cold I definitely didn’t have time for, and a trip squeezed right in the middle of it all. But through all of it, I keep thinking about something:

Your senior session lands during one of the busiest, most stressful, most exciting seasons of your family’s life.

I know that when you show up to your session, you’re carrying way more than a garment bag and a dirty soda. So one of the most important parts of my job is helping you breathe a little. Helping the day feel easy. Fun. Memorable.

I want my seniors to feel celebrated. I want moms to feel taken care of. I want dads to walk away saying, “Okay…that was actually great.”

So even when I’m tired, watching weather apps like it’s a full-time job, or powering through on throat lozenges and caffeine, I still want to show up strong for you. Because these photos become part of the story of a season nobody ever gets back.

And honestly? It’s still such a privilege to be trusted with it. ❤️ Love y’all.
