Check it out! Pet Pocketbook the amazing (local & women owned and run) software company that I use to organize my entire business did a feature on my other business, Happy Tails! 😍
Admit it. Even if you’re not dressing up your Boston Terrier as a bumble bee or squeezing your Dachshund into a hot dog costume, you can’t help but appreciate the creative ways parents and their pets celebrate Halloween. For Rachael Jaquay of Happy Tails Dog Playgroups & Pet Care, Halloween is more than just a day to dress up her dogs; it’s a way to delight her clients with holiday-themed photography.
Rachael has always been a dog lover, fostering and rescuing pups for the better part of a decade. So it wasn’t a surprise when she made her passion into a career, founding Happy Tails to offer personalized pet care through carefully matched playgroups, on-leash dog walking, and tailored home visits. Now Rachael keeps busy serving 50 wiggling, wagging clients in and around Greenfield, MA. But beyond her experience with animals, Rachael also brings an artistic eye to her work. Eight years ago, she started taking photography classes, practicing her skills on the pups in her care. She’s clearly got talent because before long, she had a booming pet photography business, and she’s since expanded into maternity, engagement, and family photos too.
For Halloween today, Rachael combined her love for pups and her artistic talents to create a fantasy-inspired self-portrait surrounded by (left to right) her pittie mix Buster Brown, Abigale (a “Jackshund”), and her foster pup, Easy.
One reason Rachael has the time to hone her artistic skills is PetPocketbook. “I LOVE the time it has given me,” she said. “I rave about it. I love that there are pet profiles that can keep track of the vaccines. I love the scheduling and automated billing. It’s amazing that I don’t have to worry about that anymore! I love how professional it is and how it’s so easy for clients to get their bills and pay.”
Rachael is using that extra time to enhance her skills. “I’m taking a workshop on enrichment for playgroups,” she said. “I want to learn more ways to stimulate them and engage their minds more. My goal is to continue to give the best service, stay on top of things, and stay inspired.”
Happy Halloween from Rachael and all of us at PetPocketbook! 👻🐾🎃
