Why photography?

I like to think I'm a very in the moment kind of person. I love being apart of peoples special moments...but also in their day to day.

The first spark I had in photography was at my aunts wedding when I was a kiddo (about 10 maybe? Idk) but she had a bunch of disposable cameras....you know with film!...yes I'm that many years old. I picked one up and snapped happily away the whole time. Mom instructed me to just not get in the photographers way.

I dutifully obliged and so when the aunt and groom were getting into the antique car, the photographer on the passenger side snapping away... I went around to the drivers side as to avoid getting in the shot...but also to get my shot. Haha

I eyed up the camera with one hand from outside the car (no way I would dare touch or get inside something with out permisso) I got the best guess of where it would be to capture them inside the car and then.....

Click....

And wait....right because I couldn't see the image. I either got the shot or I didn't.

Waited.. waited..weeks I'm sure.

The shot was awesome! I captured them both. It was lined up. It was beautiful. Pretty sure either my mom or my aunt said I got a better show than any the photographer had of them in the car itself.

And thus began my love of a picture. It is more than a memory. It's a moment with so much love in it.
My love for my aunt. The bride and grooms love. My love of photography.

I should try and track that picture down.

For the last 7.5 months my "day job" was a server a couple times a week. My favorite parts were getting to be a part of my customers time out. Some celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, marriages, and other events. For some it was the meal after the passing of their mom. Praying and hugging a stranger in the middle of the restaurant and I loved every minute of it.

It doesn't matter where God leads me. Whether it be continuing with photography or somewhere else. I trust that he knows my heart and will guide me 💛
