The holidays have a way of going faster than it ever feels like it will... One minute we're approaching Halloween and the next we're staring down the new year 😬

I don't say that to stress you out. I say it because I've watched families push "I'll book soon" all the way to "I can't believe I missed it" more times than I'd like to count. Ever wonder what kind of photos can you expect in your final gallery from a mini session 🤔 The only way to run mini session efficiently is to have a plan... which in turn delivers consistent results for you!

I always start with a full family photo before moving on to dad with the kids and mom with the kids. Then we take out the parents completely and do a few sibling photos followed by individuals. Put a little movement into the session with some walking and finish off with one of just mom and dad... because chances are, if you haven't had a session with me before, the last photo is from your wedding day!

It can be so difficult to dress everyone for an extended family session but this family totally nailed it!! Love the neutrals sprinkled with complimentary colors with a couple floral patterns and the layering for a complete fall look 😍 Save this for inspiration for your next family photo session!

Here's what I want you to know before you book a session with me:

Your kids don't have to be perfect. Your toddler doesn't have to cooperate. You don't have to lose the baby weight first, get through the difficult phase first, or wait until life feels less chaotic 🤪 This season, the one you're actually living right now, is the one you're going to want to remember.

Years from now you won't look back and wish your toddler had stood still for five more seconds. You'll see their tiny hands. Their wild personality. The way they looked at you. That's what I'm trying to capture!

If you've been waiting for the "right time," I'd gently (but honestly) say: this is it! Come as you are. I'll take care of the rest.

My favorite moments of engagement sessions?? The laughs! So. Many. Laughs 😁

There’s something about letting loose that brings out the realness in engagement sessions. You may show up not wanting to fully be there but once the ice breaks and the two of you are just out here being a couple, goofing around, whispering inside jokes, and cracking each other up, the real magic happens!

Even the grooms who swore they’d hate every second? They’re the ones laughing the hardest by the end. The ones who say “I’m not really a photos guy” and then leave after having a blast!

That’s the secret. Get comfortable in front of the camera now, and wedding day photos feel easy. Heck... your guy might even look forward to them! Don’t wait until you feel ready to be photographed. Book your engagement session now, while you’re still this giddy and in love!

How it started vs How it's going 😍

Crazy to believe it's been 4 years since I first met this couple at a family session, had the honor of photographing their wedding, and now to capture this special time as they await their little guy! Can't wait to see them become a family of 3!!
