With Lillian being sick last week my mornings were spent with extra snuggles and catching up on sleep instead of workouts. That’s ok, just a reminder of how great they feel when I can get them in 🤩🙌🌤.
Call me crazy but I love this heat and humidity, it makes my body and joints feel great too! The hotter the better in my eyes...anyone else?! 🙋🏼‍♀️👌

“Mumma, I have to go potty” 👧🏼.
I heard from a sweet little voice this morning at 6 am on our walk...when we were over a mile from the house 😳.

My mind instantly went to two options—drop your drawers on the side of the road 🙈, or get our little tails back home quickly 🏃🏼‍♀️ and pray she can hold it.
All of a sudden, this mama that “can’t run anymore” made it back to the house in under 10 minutes.
She made it to the potty, crisis averted & a nice little cardio boost as an added benefit.

Then I thought, well huh, THAT was interesting. I took a sip of coffee and continued on getting ready for the day.

How often are we willing to exert our efforts, our motivations, our strengths, for others (our kids especially), but won’t if it’s “just for me”?

There’s meaning in everything we do, every decision we make and action we take. This morning could have just been a “potty crisis averted” but all said and done, looking back on it, it was a reminder for me to push myself instead of staying in the “safe zone” where I’ve been living lately.
Our brains want to keep us safe, that’s what they’re there for 🧠.
But comfortable isn’t where growth happens.
A great reminder for us all to allow yourself to push, grow, do things you “didn’t think you could do” for no other reason to prove to YOURSELF you can.

Believe in you.
Push for you.
Grow for you.
Everyone else that you would typically “push” for will benefit from the results you create, I can promise you that ✨🤍.

No pain no gain? 🤔
As I’m officially in the homestretch of with single digit days remaining (Day 66), I find myself wondering if I’ve done enough?
❕My outdoor walks I probably 𝚜𝚑𝚘𝚞𝚕𝚍 have ran
❕My indoor workout on some days was “just” yoga instead of a 45 minute HIIT workout
❕My gallon of water included flavored or sparkling water, it should have been plain
❕I read 10 pages a day, but I do that anyway, I probably should have done 20
❕Yea, I gave up processed gluten carbs 🚫🍞🥯🥐🥖🥪🍕🫔🥙🍔... but I should have given up sugar & dairy too.
❕Over 2 months without a drop of alcohol...did you really need those NA beers and old fashioneds without the whiskey? I mean, you shouldn’t have had the soda in those NA cocktails either 🙄🥃, or had ice cream in your NA after dinner drink.
❕I’ve “only” lost 14 lbs...I bet if I did better I could have lost 20.

Are you freaking kidding me❔
Why do our minds do this to ourselves?!

Finding and pointing out all of the (non) faults instead of celebrating our accomplishments?

I’m so glad I’ve learned to 𝙤𝙗𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚 my mind instead of letting it control me.

Because otherwise yesterday the “old me” would have said yep, you’re right. This was all a waste anyway, why even do the last 10 days and finish?
Just stop now.
“Someday” you can do it over and
REALLY do it.

No. I am CELEBRATING my accomplishments because these last 65 days have still been a HARD challenge.
❕The 4:45 alarm clocks when it was -10 degrees outside
❕Being with friends, up north, at bars and restaurants, on VACATION and still saying no to alcohol and following the diet parameters I set for myself.
❕Loving on my body and still doing yoga when I was sick and just wanted to curl up in bed, or completing a lower body workout when I have a bum shoulder.
❕Enjoying the walks with my dogs and conversations with my girls, and now the bike rides 🤩🙌🚴‍♀️
❕Reading FIVE personal development books in 2 months, imagine the amount of golden nuggets in those pages📚.

I’m allowing myself to observe my thoughts, and also shifting to CELEBRATE my accomplishments and push through the finish line ❕👊.

If you don’t have an hour a day, 7 days a week to carve out for yoga, then it’s not even worth it 🧘🏼‍♀️.

Those are the silly thoughts I had- “all or nothing” with a lot of things.
Yoga especially has been a journey for me because it forces me to slow down and be still 😬.
I always thought if you’re going to be working out then you have to be WORKING OUT 🏋️‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️.
I didn’t have time to waste on 𝘠𝘰𝘨𝘢.

Then a friend invited me to my gateway drug which is a fast paced, combination of yoga, Pilates and cardio.

Then, I thought aw WTH and I finally tried yoga-yoga again.
Omg my leggggs, my arms, how are people holding these poses? I was shaking 😅 and sore the next day.
How the? So it’s not just stretching?
I fell in love.
I began going a few times a week, then continued my journey even further and went on to become a certified instructor through YogaFit

This really allowed me to learn deeply about the mind body connection. 🤍✨
Focusing on breathing techniques 🫁, physically slowing my heart rate when anxiety creeps in, and most importantly, learning to be truly present with myself and in all areas of life.

Now, even when I’m “𝘚𝘰𝘰𝘰𝘰𝘰 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘺” 🙄 I take at least 5-10 minutes every day for a small yoga practice, and to stop, center, and ground myself. Even at my office The Nest Cowork + Club where this photo was taken 🥰🙌.

I’m so excited to finally be able to attend my first session at Jenstar Movement Studio this morning, I’ve been wanting to go there for years!! And now it just so happens with her new location she is just down the road from my office!!

Do you take at least 5-10 minutes a day to ground yourself? Or is this something you need to work on? 🤍✨

What makes you fear showing up? 🤔
The fear of what people will think?
The fear of being wrong?
The fear of failure?

For me it’s always been getting paralyzed by perfectionism. I can’t share this until it’s perfect. This project is never done because it could just be a litttttttle bit better with a few tweaks. If I just added this, or changed that, or waited a few days until I had an even better “thing” whatever it is, THEN I can share and finally feel satisfied with the results.

Whatever that fear is, get rid of it.
You’ll ALWAYS be searching, and waiting, and watching.
Wishing that you had the courage to show up too.

After I took this picture I immediately thought, I can’t share that. Look at the way my back fat is by my bra (you feel this ladies?😅), but then I thought, you know what- I just held a 90 second inversion! That’s the LONGEST I’ve ever done that! It’s something to be celebrated, and shared!! Because if it can inspire just ONE person to get out of their comfort zone, and face their fears, and try something new, and hard, and uncomfortable, then it’s WORTH IT.
