For ‘s session, we wanted to build something around her love for tennis.

We scouted this court ahead of time and timed it out so we’d be there when the light would be perfect… I remember envisioning and planning this exact shot.

And instead of trying to make one look work for everything, was along for the entire session to change up her look and do touchups. For the tennis images we went with something a little more natural and athletic.

That’s the difference.

We don’t just show up and take pictures. We plan, guide, and build each session around each senior so your images will actually reflect who you are.

Not everyone loves being in front of a camera… and that’s exactly why sessions like this matter.

A lot of seniors come in worried they’ll feel awkward, won’t know what to do, or that their photos won’t really feel like them.

That’s normal.

Our job isn’t to force anything. It’s to create an experience where you can relax into it, get a little guidance when you need it, and end up with images that feel natural and real.

And when families start sharing those images, the response says a lot.

One of Madison’s looks for her senior session was this simple, timeless combo - a black top, jeans, and golden hour in the field.

But the most meaningful part of this set of photos was Elsa.

Madison brought along her 11-year-old German Shepherd so we could capture a few portraits of the two of them together. Just a few weeks after this session, Elsa sadly passed away, which makes these photos even more special.

Being trusted to photograph moments like this is something we never take lightly. Senior photos are about more than just great portraits. They’re about preserving memories and the relationships that mean the most.

Madison, it was truly an honor capturing these images with you and Elsa.

“We just received the huge order of our daughter’s Senior photos from Distinction! It’s once in a lifetime and we looked for a photographer who could do it all. We found them!

They helped pick out outfits and colors and planned the locations, had a GREAT hair and makeup artist available and on site for touch ups! And I loved spending time with her! We used our car and our dog in 2 locations!

I was so worried I’d want to kick our daughter the whole time to smile because, you know, TEENAGER! Was worried we’d get the fake smile in all of them! But I never saw it once!

Mathew is extremely personable and we all liked him! I didn’t have to prompt our kid once! Mathew handled it! He even had our daughter pick out her favorite for the yearbook and will have it all cropped and ready to the correct size.

The edits were FANTASTIC! She had a huge blemish on top of her nose and I actually took her to the dermatologist that morning praying they could dissolve it. They tried but it was too late.

Sara and Mathew did such an extraordinary job, we forgot it was ever there! The portraits we ordered are considered family heirlooms and I’m sure will be even more appreciated when she’s our age. You can’t go back!

The birds were flying south, the light was slipping away, and the colors felt almost too good to be real. And then there was calm and beautiful in the middle of it all.

We’re already booking into next year, and spots will be very limited. We’re cutting back on the number of seniors we take so we can pour even more into every session.
