Fall means a fair amount of yard work. With the cooler weather I also work on a number of to-do's that I simply did not want to do in the summer heat.

Still, I try and find some time to get out in the field, relax and disconnect from a week of stressful work, and take a few photos.

Eclipse phase is about over for this year and the ducks are filling in with detail and color rather nicely.

It was very windy today, yet there were periods of some really nice light.

This pair of Wood Ducks were pretty sweet on each other and stayed real close to one another.

The 2024 trip to Yellowstone National Park is complete. Opportunities to photograph wildlife were not as much as years passed. Nevertheless there were still some nice opportunities amidst the nice weather and lighting conditions.

I did a little more landscape photography than in other years. Given the nice weather and lighting, it was rather inviting to attach the wide angle lens and grab some images of God's creations.

While visiting beautiful locations and seeing the creatures of the earth, some are easily caught up in loving the creation more than the Creator.

When you think of all the intricacies of all God's creation there is no way in my mind that I cannot see the evidence of an Almighty God.

I am sharing a small assortment from the trip. I still have additional images to process.

Not much action today but I did have a few nice opportunities last weekend. In a few weeks the ducks will be out of eclipse phase and begin to regain their bright colors. In that same time frame herons will begin their trip back south.

What does this mean?

It means now its time to turn to photographing large mammals in Yellowstone. 🤠👍

It has been a while since I spent a little time in the field and photographed some of the local birds. It turned out to be a heron kind of day with sightings of several Green Herons, Black Crowned Night Herons, and Great Blue Herons.

Sunlight, clouds, and rain made for some diverse lighting opportunities and challenges.

***Day Of The Night Heron***

After the showers ended earlier this afternoon, I suspected it might be a good time to check out a local go-to shooting location to see if Black Crowned Night Heron's were out and about.

I kept my eye on at least six of them, as they were rather active flying from one location to another, and agitating one another.

A combination of nicely filtered light and their bouncing from place to place made for some nice opportunities.
