I grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin where my dad, Jerry Kramer, played football for the Vince Lombardi and the Green Bay Packers and also wrote four best-selling books about his experiences. I have a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Minnesota where I played rugby and freelanced for the Minnesota Daily as both a writer and a photographer. I completed my internship at the Minneapolis Star-Tri

bune. I have an M.F.A. in Documentary Photojournalism from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. I completed my internship with Newsday and was accepted into the Eddie Adams' Workshop as one of the top 100 college photojournalists in the country. My first professional project as a freelance photographer was retracing Mark Twain's route around the world on the 100th anniversary of his journey. I received 2,000 rolls of Kodachrome and free processing as a grant from Kodak. In all, it was worth about $40,000. I was the Staff Photographer for the Houston Press from 2003-2009 where I shot hundreds of covers and had my own photo column. I've also shot for Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times among others. My photojournalism has won local, national and international awards and has been exhibited locally, nationally and internationally. Football season is back in !

This Packers-theme vacation rental was especially fun to photograph with its green-and-gold decor, memorabilia, themed rooms and entertainment spaces designed for football fans in Green Bay.

Happy 66th birthday to Eric Dickerson, one of the greatest running backs in NFL history. His 2,105 rushing yards in 1984 is still the NFL single-season record. I was fortunate to photograph him crossing the stage at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.

Happy 78th birthday to Robert Plant! This photo holds a special place in my heart as it is my very first live-music photograph. I was covering the show in Rapid City, South Dakota with my press pass from The Meade County Times. Nobody told me there was a photo pit so I shot a few frames from way back.

My real estate photography business has been official for a little more than a year now and I love it. It combines my love of photography with my love of architecture.
Video has become a big part of real estate marketing so I've spent a little time creating a hybrid video package that combines drone video with still photos edited with the Ken Burns effect.

I’m honored that two of my photographs have been selected for the 2026 Exhibition. Juried by Karen Irvine, Chief Curator and Deputy Director of the Museum of Contemporary Photography at Columbia College Chicago, the exhibition features 65 works selected from more than 800 entries submitted by photographers from 13 Midwestern states. The exhibition will be on view at Promega Art Showcases in Madison, Wisconsin, from September 17, 2026, through February 26, 2027, with an opening reception on Thursday, September 17, from 4–7 p.m. I’m especially grateful that this is the second time Karen Irvine has selected my work for exhibition, following the Atlanta Photography Group’s Portfolio exhibition. My sincere thanks to Karen Irvine and PhotoMidwest for this honor.

Happy 65th birthday to Woody Harrleson. I ran into him in Havana, Cuba at the Latin American Stadium during the Baltimore Orioles exhibition game against the Cuba All Stars in 1999 and he agreed to take a photo with me and Flat Stanley.

Remembering the great Max McGee who was born on this day in 1932 and left us in 2007 at age 75.

Photo #2: Max in the broadcasting booth. From 1979 to 1998 he served as the color commentator for radio broadcasts of Packers' football games. With droll wit and keen insights, McGee was extremely popular as a color commentator and was named the Wisconsin Sportscaster of the Year an unprecedented 10 times during his two decades with the Packers Radio Network.

Photo #4: Jerry Kramer introduces Max to Academy Award winning filmmaker Ted Demme at Appleton’s Paper Valley Hotel in 2001. Ted, an avid Green Bay Packer fan was in the early stages of making a movie about Coach Vince Lombardi. Sadly he died in January of 2002.
