I grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin where my dad, Jerry Kramer, played football for the Vince Lombardi and the Green Bay Packers and also wrote four best-selling books about his experiences. I have a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Minnesota where I played rugby and freelanced for the Minnesota Daily as both a writer and a photographer. I completed my internship at the Minneapolis Star-Tri
bune. I have an M.F.A. in Documentary Photojournalism from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. I completed my internship with Newsday and was accepted into the Eddie Adams' Workshop as one of the top 100 college photojournalists in the country. My first professional project as a freelance photographer was retracing Mark Twain's route around the world on the 100th anniversary of his journey. I received 2,000 rolls of Kodachrome and free processing as a grant from Kodak. In all, it was worth about $40,000. I was the Staff Photographer for the Houston Press from 2003-2009 where I shot hundreds of covers and had my own photo column. I've also shot for Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times among others. My photojournalism has won local, national and international awards and has been exhibited locally, nationally and internationally.
