I didn't think to manually order my organic firework photos the other day and this one was buried in the middle. It's possibly my favorite, and what others say is the best of the bunch from the other night, so I wanted to make sure it got highlighted here for those that may have missed it.

Batch 1 of photos from Lakes Dragaway, featuring the jets. In whatever order Facebook decided to put them in, we have shots from the top end during the first round, and up on the line during the second round. The usual cast of characters are included: Quartermaster and PT the Pirate from Jet Cars Rock, Crossfire, Chicago Rush and Shark, and Hocus Pocus.

I wanted to try something different this time with the top end work and getting chute photos. David Gates was coming in extra hot in the Crossfire, so I had a slight miss on that one. Otherwise I'm pleased with the results. Especially considering I was having gear issues that put my main lens out of service for a while until I could figure out a work around. I think if I'm going to do that again, I'm bringing a scooter or something. Walking a half mile or more each way in work boots and carrying my backpack wasn't exactly what I would call fun. LOL.

Still have a bit to go on the photos from last weekend, but here's another quick tease. Jet Cars Rock was kind enough to let me borrow their new Insta360 X5 camera to try out during the second round of jets. This is my first ever video with a 360 camera and mostly just a test and playing around with the editing app, but it's something I'm really thinking about investing in for myself. I learned a fair bit, and there's almost a half hour of footage that this one was pulled from. I may go back through and create a highlight video of all the runs

Back to work on the others now thanks to an unexpected day off.

The races went well, even if my main camera lens suffered a malfunction. I was thankfully able to compensate and even borrowed my son's lens for a bit, and then repaired mine at home. Work has been keeping us quite busy, so not promising any timeline on getting my photos up. It could be next weekend.

I was also able to borrow a 360 camera from Jet Cars Rock to record some of the action. I have one video saved that I may play around with and share at some point. I've never worked with those files before, and I'm looking forward to it.
