Becky Peteete Photography If there's one thing I've learned from grief, it's to take pictures. Take pictures of everything, everywhere, of every single memory you want to keep.

Because at some point, that's all you'll have left & it's the only way you'll feel close to them.

My Story

“Why Photography”.... Here’s a short story of why.... I grew up in a small town in TX (if you blink you will pass right through it).... population back then was about 539. Everyone knows everyone in a small town. It begins like this.... I grew up in a household of 6 (my dad, mom, older sister & brother (twins), me and a younger bother.) Dad worked as a welder but pretty much a man of many skills. He had mad carpenter skills. I remember to this day the house we grew up in was not livable, but he pretty much rebuilt it. He has taught me every dance move I know and we loved going fishing with the fam... My mom is one of the strongest women I know (having 4 kids, one with a heart problem wasn’t easy either.) We spent a lot of time with the grandparents, due to Garry having heart surgeries all the time. Then one fall morning that all changed, when we had to say our last goodbyes.... Never easy having to say goodbye, but I have the memories. Fast forward some years and my lil brother enlisted in the Army. He wanted to make a difference. He came home on leave from Iraq and was killed by some senseless people that get to be with their families still (case still unsolved). He was my rock and my best friend. You never expect to lose one brother let alone 2, and how my mom had held it together, only God knows. They say God doesn’t give you more then you can handle, but at times i wonder.... So me and my sister hold on the each other as much as we can (even though I live about 1500 miles away) and even though we weren’t close back in the day, we are there for each other now. So photography has become important to me, to try and capture all the memories I can. A photo is sometimes the only memory you are left with in the end. I grow to love and build and everlasting friendship with everyone I take pictures of. If you ever need memories captured, I’m your gal. I’m not a professional but try my hardest to do the best photos I can. And a lot of times other photographers have a time limit, but not me. You can’t rush capturing those memories.... like i said, sometimes it’s all your left with.
