While we’re in this weird transition phase... HELP US NAME our bus🚌😄 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We got a few good responses as far as suggestions go, but we’ve narrowed it down to 4️⃣ names. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A little background first before you read the choices... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our bus came from Clark county school district near Las Vegas. Cristian went and picked it up from St. George, Utah. And Liam loves Pixar movies, especially Cars and Cars 3. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Update.🤗⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Since we’ve been getting asked a lot how the bus is coming along... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
let me tell you... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Life has been INSANE, the last few weeks, to say the least. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let me run it down for y’all: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
September was our last month in our rental. We decided on a school bus on the 11th, it came home the 12th which was also Liam’s 2nd birthday party. Then came the packing/selling/donating/moving part. Cristian quit his job the 15th but I kept mine til the 29th. We had a few hours total without the boys around during it all. Luca went through his 4 month sleep regression and wouldn’t nap - just wanted held- during the last week there. The boys and I each got super sick over a weekend- but mine lasted until just a week ago😳 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We loaded up ALL of our belongings onto the bus instead of a uhaul so it was jam PACKED. We have just a few big things left on it though 👌🏻⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We were crashing in an RV on our family farm, but it got WAY cold for the boys the last few nights so we found a little apartment in my hometown. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s not an ideal situation but it’s the best we can do given our circumstances. The timing of everything was a little crappy and we felt so rushed but we still believe this is the path for our fam. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So full demo on the bus will probably be able to happen next month but we’re pretty sure the cold winter will delay our progress a little. As well as life in general. Having a toddler and infant while moving, working, and trying to live a day to day life is pretty damn hard. Let alone, throwing in a skoolie build. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So.. the bus isn’t coming along as quick as we wanted but the important thing is that we’re safe and warm for the CO winter ahead of us. But we appreciate being asked how it is all going for us lately! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the mean time, follow along with us as we start learning to live tiny and get the boys adjusted to the start of a crazy adventure.🚌💛

It’s getting really empty over here...👀
Reality is sinking in a little more for us.

As of right now in our home we only have a few pieces of big furniture... and a lot of little odds and ends items.😳
This week we said good-bye to the couches, dining room table, and the whole playroom (lol yay!)

And damn, it feels good!

We’re one step closer to our tiny dream home. 🚌

And we’re anxious to see the rest of it go.

We definitely questioned this choice with babies.. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But, we think they will do just fine living the bus life.😏⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We want to give our boys the world by being able to show it to them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We believe less is more and that experiences trump gifts any day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We think life should be lived on our own terms, including being able to be an active part of our children’s lives consistently. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We know it’s possible to lead a lifestyle that allows freedom. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We see so many opportunities within reach, that we don’t want to wait 40 years to experience them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And we want to show the boys that chasing your dreams and reaching your goals is 100% doable, with a little faith and a lot of support🤍⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Liam was excited when he woke up one morning to find a bus parked on our street. Let alone the fact he got to go up to it, then inside of it! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“How are you guys downsizing from a house to a bus?!”
🏡 ➡️ 🚌
GOOD question.
We’ve rented half of a duplex for the last 18 months.
With our garage, the place is close to 2,800 sq ft.. granted we’ve always had a roommate in our basement so we don’t utilize the entire house anyway. But we have definitely been used to a generous amount of space.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We aren’t even sure of the exact square footage in the school bus to be honest, but most skoolie builds are well under 150-200 sq ft. So the amount of stuff we have to get rid of is ungodly 😂
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We’re lucky enough some family has offered us part of a storage container for the things we’d like to keep safe. Otherwise we have been (and will be) selling all we own, and then donating the rest.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s been a bittersweet and emotional journey going through what we’ve accumulated in our time here. But we know we don’t NEED all of this stuff we have... we know it isn’t necessary to have it all in order to be happy or to live the life we want.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It wasn’t even part of the “what about” or “what if” conversations of choosing this lifestyle - we are not concerned about not having enough stuff.
For Cristian and I, it’s easy. We know what we use and need daily... The boys it’s a little tougher, especially with Luca being so little, BUT Liam really doesn’t need much. He only plays with half of his toys or wants to be outside all of the time anyways.🤷🏼‍♀️
We aren’t worried.😄
It’s been refreshing as hell knowing majority of everything in this house won’t be coming along with us...
