100 Moms. 100 Stories. ONE MOVEMENT
I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want my photography business to look like—not just this year, but years from now.
And I keep coming back to one idea:
I don’t want to just photograph families.
I want to build relationships with them.
So, I’m setting a goal for myself.
Starting September through the end of the year, I want to photograph 100 local moms that I have not had the privilege of photographing yet.
Not because I need 100 more clients.
Because I want to meet 100 mommas and their families with 100 different stories.
Moms who are in the thick of raising babies.
Moms whose kids are suddenly teenagers.
Moms who feel like they’ve spent years behind the camera instead of in the photographs.
Moms who are exhausted, joyful, overwhelmed, proud, figuring it out, starting over, or simply doing their best.
I want to photograph you.
And I want this to be bigger than a photography session.
There is one important piece to this project: because I want to tell the story of this community, I am asking that participants be comfortable with me sharing the images from their session on my social media and website.
That said, your children’s privacy matters.
If you are comfortable with me sharing your family but don’t want your children’s faces publicly shown, we can absolutely work around that. I can crop or blur faces when necessary.
And for all of my amazing past clients—this does NOT mean you don’t belong here. You are already a part of my story, and I am so incredibly grateful for you. This particular project is simply my way of intentionally opening the door to mommas and families I haven’t had the chance to meet yet.
Because five years from now, I don’t want to look back and see 100 sessions.
I want to see 100 relationships that started with a photograph.
So if you’re a local mom and we’ve never worked together before, this might be your invitation.
