October musings. 🍂

I don't know if September will ever not feel overwhelming to me, but as the days get darker, my gratitude roots deeper. Maybe it's a seasonal invitation to look inward and recognize darker days as a mirror. Seeing things you don't want to see also reveals to you the things you deeply, and truly want. The bigger the dream, the greater the contrast. We are at such a crucial threshold, and it's becoming so much easier to get distracted from our purpose. If rising to the occasion was easy, the universe wouldn't give us endless opportunities to do it. Endless opportunities to break the toxic cycle, reevaluate and grow. To become better and better stewards of our energy.

To be human is to create, innovate, and expand. Stay human & take it slow. 🌱

✨A silly little appreciation post for a silly big and beautiful life.

Because sometimes gratitude can’t be expressed in words alone.

As the chill of autumn begins to set in, I’m welcoming it with open arms because my core is pretty much constantly warm these days. Down to my bones and through my entire being, I am warm and buzzing with overflow as my new baseline. Things I thought I’d only ever be dreaming of are coming to fruition. I’m surrounded by so much Art, love and deep meaningful connection.

✨An overflow of abundance, to plant, pay forward, & and pass it on.

Every year, and this one in particular, I’ve strived to plant the seed of gratitude and cultivate a creative community in my every action, move and word. More intentionally than ever, I’ve funneled my energy into becoming the most present and fulfilled partner, sister, friend, and colleague I can be. Every day is day one, and we’re just getting started.

But what has been most profound is what has stayed the same, throughout what feels like the most transformative chapter yet. As if it’s been there the whole time, waiting.

Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything. Maybe it’s about unbecoming everything that isn’t really you, so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.✨

Portrait of a cup.

It is such a privilege to work with creative visionaries who draw our attention to the minute deliberate details of our every day lives,

& whose work serves as a reminder
that art is, in fact, not separate from life.

An invitation to you. ✨

When your work & life intertwine in a merriment of wonder so encapsulating, they are not separate. That is self portrait work, your life’s work. The WHY. The curiosity and love of the game, despite the outcome.

The how might change, but the why is constant. You may use different tools & materials, work in different spaces with different people, have another job title, etc. but the why is the same. The itch calling you forward in all things, is one you’ve felt as long as you can remember.

It’s in your cosmic blueprint.
You’re in the right place.

We are so focused on telling people how our products and services can transform their lives, that we often overlook how it has transformed our own. We forget how important it is to share what we’ve overcome to create our work. Which is equally as valuable, because it lets people know how invested we are in the purpose behind the work, the effect it has on other people, and how it’s shaped us as humans.

We cannot offer transformative work, unless we are first transformed by that same work.

The real work is much bigger than the role we play as stewards. It’s work done by the hands, heart, and soul.

Self portrait work.

Thrilled to have some photos accompanying an article about Tara Wilson Pottery published in the most recent issue of The Studio Potter!

Such a powerful narrative! Tara Wilson doesn’t just fire pots—she courts the flame. Her wood-firing practice is a masterclass in patience, trust, and finding beauty in the unpredictable.
In a tradition once defined by grit, she’s rewriting the story with collaboration, inclusivity, and grace.

You are the art.
Your life is the creative practice.

We spew “trust the process” so nonchalantly, but what does it actually mean?

It means you need to live in the current season, instead of being constantly pushed into the next. Falling into a pattern designed to keep us consuming. One that thrives off of urgency and scarcity. Feeding an illusion that we are always behind.

When really, so little of this life is meant to be monetized. The greatest asset of our work is our time and attention. Our story.

You are not behind.

You are the art. Embody your story. The when you’ve lived, and the one you continue to write.

As exciting as this photography venture is for me, it is not something I take lightly.
It's so more sacred to me now than I ever thought it would be.

People are letting me in, to their homes, their workspaces, and their creative zones. All of which are such special parts of their lives. The time we share in conversation about their creative process, their lifestyle, their dreams, and their perspectives on life, is invaluable. The key to photographing someone well, is to know them well. To REALLY know them and be present for the energetic exchange that happens.

One major thing I took away from my time as an art teacher, that has been amplified tenfold, is how crucial it is for our environment to support making mistakes, taking risks, and being vulnerable. In both our learning environment and our living environment (hopefully with massive overlap). Our creative thinking process is affected so much by our environment and the people in it.

It is an honor to be allowed into these spaces.

Megs thanked me for *seeing* her, but it was her who saw me. That’s the magic of working with dream clients and creative visionaries, when the energy is potent and magnetic. Our enthusiasm becomes a mirror of one another.

Thanks for trusting me Megs.❣️ I’m so grateful to know you and to witness your magic.

The first Wild Women event was a success!

It was such an honor to be in a room with so many purpose driven women, who have such a variety of talents and life experiences. Honestly, “networking event” is not the right phrase. There was so much genuine connection, and belly laughter. By the end of the night I felt like I’d known these ladies for years.

All of this is a huge testament of Avery Patrick’s character, the type of person she is and the type of people she connects. That is the greatest accomplishment of her (& anyone’s) work, is the impact it has on others. She has the uncanny ability to bring passionate people together and enable them to shine their light even brighter. Such a gift.

It was an honor to share this space and document the evening.

These stories of small business aren't just documented — they’re lived, day by day, in early mornings, weathered hands, and the quiet devotion of doing meaningful work with care.

Photographing Hindu Hillbilly Honey was more than a session — it was a meditation on the kind of work that shapes you from the inside out. Nestled in the rugged beauty of western Montana, this family-run apiary is rooted in environmental stewardship, education, and the slow, sacred craft of tending bees. Their raw honey and handcrafted skin care products are offerings of patience, purpose, and deep respect for the land and each other.

This is real work, hard work, done with the hands, heart, and soul. The kind of work that asks everything of you and gives everything back in return. It’s the work that makes you a better listener, a better steward, a better human. Hindu Hillbilly Honey reminds us that when you nurture your life’s work with intention, it becomes something that nourishes you right back.

What you give is what you get. Full circle.
