Former Wichita Heights standout running back John Randle Jr., a 2022 football coverboy, has entered the transfer portal with three years to play after two seasons at Utah. Will be very interesting to see where he goes. If he wanted, could also be an incredible high level track athlete. Here is a rare shot of me at work. I'm getting a video of Hays High celebrating their Sectional round victory over the Hutchinson Salthawks 28-0.

Road Warriors: Hays High (5A, 7-4) is one of the hottest teams in Kansas as they go on the road, again, and win 28-0 over Hutchinson. Last week they knocked off previously unbeaten Great Bend. Tony Crough has the Indians in their second semifinal in three years. Three straight road wins in the playoffs for the Indians. They will likely face Eisenhower (big lead) in the state semifinals next week, again on the road. photo courtesy of Hays High

There's likely a statistical way to prove this, but anecdotally it feels like there is less separation at the top of more classifications than in the past. Only a couple of the state's nine classifications have a heavy-favorite to win it all this year, which is great.
