Hey my favorite people! I was doing some TED Talk research for a class today, and as I was I came across this gem of a video, and I watched it and felt the need to share it!
As a photographer I hear a lot of people say "can you make me look good," or "I really don't like pictures of myself," etc. Believe it or not I share these thoughts with you guys! I HATE having my picture taken but when I take pictures of everyone else I see someone beautiful and someone that doesn't see that in themselves, and I hope I can change that for you/them.
As I watched this, it reminded me of something that I have said in the past, and one of the biggest reasons I changed my name. While we may care about what we look like in our pictures, people around us don't care especially when we only have the pictures left. They don't pull a picture up and think about how big or small your body was, how you had a pimple on your forehead, how you have that gap in between your teeth, etc. They see someone they love or loved and they remember what that picture represented at the time.
I hope that you will take the time to read this and watch this video. I hope by the end of it you feel more confident looking at pictures of yourself. I hope that you fall more in love with who you are rather than what you look like. Everyone is so beautiful in their own way and it's not because of what you looked like, it is because of what you did or were doing in that time.
