Mysterious with an ancient soul. Slightly judgmental. Ravens are some of the most intelligent birds on the planet. They have been known to play games, use tools they’ve crafted, problem solve and more. And while they are considered affectionate, they can also hold a mean grudge and have a type of episodic memory. So where others may call a group of Ravens an Unkindness, Conspiracy or Treachery, I’ll stay off their “list” and simply call them Friend 🖤

This stunning Northern Shoveler drifting through calm waters is a reminder of how extraordinary wetland ecosystems really are. From filtering water to supporting migratory birds, wetlands quietly keep nature in balance. Speaking of filtering, the Northern Shoveler’s signature bill isn’t just unique looking. POV: You just got jump scared by a bird that lives in a hole 👀

This is a Burrowing Owl. The only owl that ditches trees and lives underground like a tiny feathered tenant. They stand guard at their burrow, hunt everything from insects to small rodents and mostly keep low to the ground.

Cute, right? Yeah, about that. Their populations have been declining for years. Disappearing homes, pest control programs, vehicle collisions, they all play a role. So that intense little stare? It’s not just curiosity, it’s survival.

Alarm: Disrespectful ⏰ Temperature: Questionable 🥵  View: Absolutely worth it 🙌🏻

There’s something unreal about sunrise in Arches National Park. The desert glows shades of red, the La Sal Mountains stand quietly in the distance like a painted backdrop, … It’s the kind of moment that makes you stop, breathe, and just be 😌 Places like this feel timeless, but they’re not untouchable. Take it in and leave it better than you found it so the next person gets to feel this too.

Emerald greens, sapphire blues…Blink and you miss the jewel-toned magic 💎✨

While it looks calm here, this Broad-Billed Hummingbird’s wings are beating 50+ times per second just to stay in place. They have to eat constantly to survive, so they rely on healthy habitats and native plants. Fewer flowers, fewer feeders, fewer chances to see moments like this at all.

In a world that moves fast, this desert giant stands still, rooted, resilient and thriving where most wouldn’t survive. No noise. No rush. Just quiet growth under an endless sky.

Maybe that’s the reminder today: You don’t need perfect conditions to rise. You just need patience and grit 💚

Fun fact-Saguaro cactus don’t grow their first arm until they are 50-70 years old. Depending on conditions, it could be even later.
