Hi, friends! 👋 There are quite a few new faces around here lately, so I figured it was time to introduce myself again.

I’m Jess—the face behind Jess Carr Photography. I’m a Christian, wife to an amazing and hard-working husband, mom of two cuties, and former teacher/fitness instructor.

A few years ago I decided I’d make a business out of photography…I was extremely determined to work at it and be successful. And my biggest why is pretty simple: my family.

So I started building this little business…while very pregnant! 😂 My amazing sister, Shonta Harper Photography, got me started and taught me so much of what I needed to know to begin booking clients. Then the talented Jennifer Lee with JLee Photography took a chance on me and helped me grow into studio photography. I’m forever grateful to both of them—and to everyone who has supported me along the way. 🤍

I REALLY want you to know that each and every booking genuinely matters to our family. Photography has become a way for me to help pay bills, contribute to our family, and still have the flexibility to be more present with my kids. It’s grown slowly, one session and one busy season at a time, and I’m really proud of what it’s become…and excited about where it’s going.

“If you need newborn pictures I highly recommend Jess! She did such an amazing job with my little boy. She was very patient with him since he was awake for almost the entire time. She surprised me with a rainbow for a few pictures since he was a rainbow baby. That was something I hadn’t even thought of. So if you’re looking for a photographer I highly recommend her! I will definitely be using her for his 1 yr and family pictures in the future!”

My husband and I planted these flowers from seed with a vision for sessions here, but last evening, my own babies came out to play in them… turns out, I was growing more than flowers. 💛
