Seriously considering getting back into nature and portrait photography after a 7 year hiatus. In 2016, I was chair for the Photography Committee for the Melbourne Art Show, in it's last year in downtown Melbourne. Wasn't a warm and fuzzy experience, and I put away my camera in the interim. I got into other forms of art, especially painting with acrylics.

As a way to boost my fixed income, and renew the joy that I had for photography, I am looking at options. I have loved photography since I was a little girl and begged Santa for that "Open Me First" gift. Nearly got a Minor in Photography. Gotta find that love again - I miss it.

I ditched the old photo lights from last century, and need to replace with eco-friendly lights. Still have all my backdrops and studio supplies, and I could even set a small studio in the garage, and put in one of the 2 window ACs in there.

All just ideas. I've got to get on it as I will be taking photos at my 50th +`1 High School Reunion and I have to get the cobwebs out of my 20th century Nikon 9500. Lets see where these thoughts take me.

As I will be photographing the Melbourne Art Festival, I have to get used to taking pictures that appeal to all types of people. This means I may be stepping out of my comfrotable little box and shooting events that I may not necessarily choose to photograph. Like anything, the more I practice the better I get.

The festival is coming up fast; I'm trying to get photographers lined up. Scheduled coverage includes the Artists, Patron events, 5K Flamingo Run, Kids' World, Student Workshops, Entertainment, and various other activities. Anyone interested in service work? Message me, please.

I've had a life-long interest in photography from that Kodak's "Open me first" present to now - that's about 50 years! I studied darkroom techniques and art fundementals/composition during three years of photography curriculum at Southeastern Massachusetts University (now UMass/Dartmouth)...

Working on my own photography website! Granted, only for two days so far, and it's a 14 day free trial . . . Uploading photos from Europe, then move on to more local photographs.
