Lately, it feels like there’s been a lot of loss around us.

And it’s had me thinking about something I didn’t realize until it was too late.

I didn’t start photography because I thought it would be a lucrative business.

I started because when my dog passed away…
I was completely broken.

If you’ve ever lost a heart dog, you know what I mean.

And in the middle of all of that, I realized something I hadn’t thought about before.

Because one day, photos stop being something you scroll past in an iPhone Camera backlog…
and start becoming something you wish you had done differently.

CORUNNA AKC SHOW EXHIBITORS
Sunday, April 26

I’ve been approved to photograph on-site at the Shiawassee Fairgrounds and will have limited availability this Sunday for portrait sessions around the show grounds.

Session Fee: $225 — includes five high-resolution images
Additional images and artwork will be available after gallery delivery.

A great opportunity to update your dog’s images heading into a busy summer show season! Perfect for ads, websites, and social media.

I’m keeping this very limited to allow flexibility throughout the day and work around ring times. Sessions are pre-scheduled portrait sessions only; ringside photography will not be offered.

I’ll be offering a limited number of portrait sessions at select upcoming shows in the West Michigan area.

Sessions will be available during:
•AKC Progressive Dog Show - Corunna, MI (April 26 only) - on site
• AKC Apple Blossom Cluster – Kalamazoo, MI (May 21–25) - off site
• UKC Premier – Kalamazoo, MI (June 12–14) off site

These may or may not be held on show grounds, depending on the location. If off site - each session will take place at a nearby park location (within ~15 minutes), selected for clean and pretty backgrounds to highlight your dog's structure, breed type, movement and overall presentation.

Show weekends can be unpredictable, so I keep these sessions limited to allow flexibility around ring times, breed judging, and group schedules.

The Studio Mini Portrait event was such a good one. I had the chance to work with both new and familiar faces and their incredible pups.

I’m off this week enjoying the youngest kiddo’s spring break (and maybe doing a little scouting), but I had to share this one of Stella.

She was a little confused when she first walked into a full studio setup… but it didn’t take long for her to realize treats were involved, and it quickly turned into the best. day. ever. 😄

This was taken toward the end of her session, and that happy, relaxed expression just says it all. We ended up with so many beautiful images of her, but this one really just hits me right in the heart.

Such a good girl, Stella. 🖤

Golden hour on a woodland adventure with the matriarch of our home.

She’s earned every year behind her and carries it well. These days she spends her time stretched out, snoring on the couch… but if someone pulls in the drive, she’s already at the door.

In the chaos of life, it’s easy to keep chasing what’s next. This quiet walk one on one with her was a reminder to slow down, breathe a little deeper, and appreciate just how good this moment is… I am going to cherish every moment while I can still get it. 🥰
