On the weekend of the summer solstice C&Z got married in the very place they first met and threw a huge party to celebrate. They made vows to each other in a moss covered amphitheater as the sun shone through the trees, and ate dinner with a view of a 19th century castle. The espresso margaritas were flowing and the dance floor was packed as the sun slowly set over Lake Michigan - my favorite kind of night.

Meandering the dunes and looking for shells along the shore in too-big sweaters. The beach all to themselves 🐚

I feel so alive and deeply fulfilled when I get to photograph a family year after year. I’m especially lucky to have photographed these dear friends since they got engaged and to have grown alongside each other. As a photographer there is nothing more special than to be a part of a family’s archive, I get emotional thinking about it!

I have more limited availability this year due to my wedding work, and I won’t be able to take on any family sessions in September or October, but I’m a sucker for a mid summer session so get in touch if that’s your season. Expect family sessions to be film-heavy!
