Ty Saylor Photography Located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. If you'd like to schedule a portrait session, please don't hesita The quality of my camera was unparalleled by my phone.

Nothing quite compares to the feeling of taking an excellent photograph. When I first began my journey as a photographer in 2019, it seemed as if every shot I took was a winner. I quickly fell in love with photography and was excited by the prospect of capturing images to share with friends and family. I began traveling throughout the state of Michigan while constantly looking for the next shot. E

ventually I set my sights a little wider and began traveling out of state, visiting the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, The Badlands of South Dakota, and the deserts and national parks of Arizona and Utah. In the Fall of 2021 I began pursuing a degree in Photography at Grand Rapids Community College with the hopes of expanding my knowledge and gaining skills needed to grow my photography both creatively and with hopes of turning it into a small business. If you would like to inquire about prints or portrait sessions, please send me an email via the Contact page! I have since become interested in shooting film, and after getting my first few rolls of film processed I fell in love. You can even see some of my film work on this site! Film has certainly become a main focus of mine going forward and I hope you’ll stick around to see where I go next.

Mackinac Island, Lake Huron, Pure Michigan

This was one heck of a drone shot, and a little risky given how far out over the water I had to take the drone. But we succeeded and the drone is safe. Totally worth it.

Well, we missed the full bloom of the Co**se Flower unfortunately, but the flower chose a random Tuesday in June to open up, so sadly we were both working all day. But here’s a couple black and whites on Tri-X from a couple days before it bloomed.

Part of Tri-X Summer.

A visit to Frederik Meijer Gardens to see the co**se flower yielded no stinky results, but it did give me these.

Took my RF 14-35 f4 out to play yesterday. I haven’t shot digital for personal use in a little while, so it was kinda nice to see my photos immediately 😂
Don’t get used to it!

The start of Tri-X Summer, or, my desire to shoot mostly black and white film all summer, and the film of choice being Tri-X.

I just started a new job doing real estate photography, and it’s taking me all over the city. The idea is to have my film camera(s) with me while moving from shoot to shoot, and if I have time, shooting what I see in between.
