I spent too long [delusionally] thinking I needed to build a team that covered every service, every discipline. Throw in a brick + mortar space and I’d be taken seriously.
Then I realized I would build something I don’t actually want to run.
While staying intentionally small in an industry that constantly tells you to scale has been a risk, I LOVE that I get to partner with people who are better than me at the things I don’t love. My clients get specialists. I get my life back. Everyone wins.
The truth is you don’t have to own every piece of the puzzle to lead the work well.
Founders, what’s the one thing you’re still holding onto that you probably should have handed off by now?
