While I have formal training in posing clients, I typically choose not to follow this method for most of my sessions.

Certainly, I will still take posed photographs with the family looking at the camera and smiling, but my primary focus is on capturing genuine moments where you are engaged with your children.

Whether it's a pop-up session, a mini session, or an in-home session, I always begin by getting to know the kids a little and helping them feel comfortable with me. If this is your first time working with me, be ready... I embrace the silly side and often draw energy from the kiddos!

Rather than spending the entire session trying to get your littles to sit still and follow instructions, I encourage you to join in the fun and connect with them on their level.

This approach allows for authentic moments to unfold naturally, enabling me to capture those candid shots we all cherish.

May is for the Mamas, and my calendar is filling up fast!

All galleries from the Mama & Me Pop-Up at have been delivered. It was a wonderful event, and I enjoyed photographing the families that attended. Thank you to all of the Moms that booked a timeslot, I can't wait to see which images are your favorites. (I have SO many favs, and can't wait to share 😍).

As an in-home photographer, I often hear concerns about window lighting, rainy days, and pets.

But don't worry, I've got you covered! I arrive early to scout out the best lit areas and give your pets (and kiddos 😉) time to get comfortable with me.

As a mom and pet owner myself, I believe taking the time to ease into the session is crucial. This allows me to capture your family's authentic moments with subtle guidance.

Case in point: this cozy in-home maternity session on a rainy day was pure perfection. We took a few minutes to find the best spots and give their pup some treats to warm up to me.

Planning a Newborn Session? Follow these 5 tips to be fully prepared.

I've had SO many requests lately for newborn sessions! I had the pleasure of photographing this cutie before Christmas, with 2 more scheduled this month! During the booking process, I get so many questions about what to prep for an in-home newborn session. These are my top tips for planning your session:

1. Try to book the session within the first 3 weeks of baby being born. Most newborns get baby acne around the 3/4 week old age, book early to avoid flare ups for photos!

2. If you want baby to wear outfits during the session, get the smallest size available! We want clothing to be a little snug, so baby doesn't get lost in the extra fabric.

3. Have a variety of blankets/swaddles ready. We will use these for most of the session, as backdrops for individuals of baby and to wrap baby in.

4. Avoid dressing baby, yourself and the rest of the family in neon colors & busy patterns. Stick with solid muted colors, and classic patterns like stripes, florals or plaid.

5. The baby rules the shoot! Sometimes a Newborn Session is a lot of stimulation for a new baby, so we take breaks as they need it. We will follow their cues for eating, diaper changes and cuddles. I'll photograph little moments in between. Have snacks on standby for older siblings, these breaks are great for them too!
