Alex & Rachael!!

During this session we were joking that the walking & cold weather could put me into labor even though it was weeks early.. only for me to go into labor 4 days later🥴

I love when couples have their engagement photos taken in a different season than their wedding photos - it means they’ll have photos to hang in their home in completely different outfits and backgrounds! Alex and Rachael are getting married in the heat and sunny skies of July so a session in the freezing cold only seemed right 🙂

Using Meta glasses to record a session in action!!

During photoshoots I use a mix of poses and general prompts to get a mix of editorial, adventurous, and straight-forward photos.

Sometimes the prompts just capture you candidly, like “run over and give her a hug”, and sometimes they’re more specific and require some tweaking to get the vision.

When couples tell me they’re not “photogenic” or not comfortable coming up with poses by themselves (hello, none of us are!) I say don’t worry about it - I’ll direct you as needed!!

Calista & Brett enjoying an evening in the spring blooms!

Typical April is the season of engagement sessions - after fall and winter proposals and waiting out the season of slush and mud, couples get to celebrate their upcoming weddings with some (finally) pretty greenery and blossoming trees.

This year is no exception! The tulips and daffodils are bringing colors back in front of my camera🤩🤩

Unfortunately frost killed a lot of the tree blossoms this spring, but after years of outdoor photoshoots, I’ve learned all it takes for stunning photos is a few feet of beauty even when most of a park is still muddy & gray.

That’s exactly what we did here - found a little corner of pink and white blossoms. Just three trees tucked away between lots of dead ones, and we made the absolute most of them.

Cheers to starting back to a busy season of finding beauty amidst the mundane!

A love story straight out of a movie 🤎

When Gabby and I were chatting about photoshoot, I knew Cypress Gardens was the perfect place to document their love - right where The Notebook was filmed. Paddling between the trees in the still, mossy waters, this was what every photoshoot should feel like - a date with your favorite person while I tag along 📸

Introducing the Kings!

Highlight of my year so far to travel across Europe for 2 weeks & capture my cousin’s marriage, plus getting to meet their new friends & family and see their life serving in Slovakia.

Seeing wedding traditions in different cultures is one of my favorite things, & it makes my job so easy when a couple is so excited & joyful on their big day!
