I wanted to take a minute to highlight this dewy cave moth photo I took while visiting Adventure Mines in Greenland, MI. I didn't bother to bring my camera along, but I did have my Google Pixel 5 and its terrific low light capture.

Using only the torchlight on the helmet I was wearing and the low light photo mode, I captured a raw image that was able to produce this incredible final shot, almost as if it came from a macro lens.

I like to tell people I bought my last two Pixels for the camera in particular, and here is by best endorsement.

Here are a selection of photos from a recent trip to the Upper Peninsula.
At the Upper Falls at Tahquamenon Falls State Park I took the path down to the low vantage point along the river, to get some stunning shots, but every time I turned to leave, I stopped and gazed a little longer, turning back and saying, "ah, one more photo, one more minute."

It's worth the extra walk, in my opinion.

Anime Central was just a few weeks ago, and I wanted to share this picture I captured of a scale model of the WWII Japanese battleship Yamato as it was depicted in the TV series, Uchū Senkan Yamato.

Just came back from a 5K run/walk event on a beautiful spring day, and wanted to share just how photogenic this subject was. I couldn't have asked for better weather to go walking with the family today.

Here's another photo from my trip to Northern Michigan. This is from Brimley, MI shot from the bridge along the river just as the trees were burning with fall colors.
It was an absolutely stunning, overcast fall day that really let the foliage pop in just the right way.

I recently completed a headshot set for a client. With the pandemic, I've avoided some indoor settings for a while, but I also love being outdoors and shooting outdoors, so this is where I am in my element!

Unfortunately, it was confirmed today with near certainty that I won't be able to attend Colossalcon next year. On the bright side, this makes my plans for JAFAX, that following weekend, much easier.
