For great love + grand adventures
Based in Michigan, available worldwide
LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC affirming 🫶🏻 I'm Taylor Rae!

A West Michigan based senior & wedding photographer. I travel all throughout the state and midwest. From Chicago to Cincinnati, I'd love to travel to be a part of your best day ever. I grew up in Muskegon, MI and love being so close to Lake Michigan. I'm a Michigan State alumni, and have my bachelors degree in psychology. I will be starting my masters and specialist degree at Grand Valley State University in the fall of 2022. Although my education is in a field completely different than photography, I have been a photographer for seven years now. My passion and love for meeting new people and capturing their happiest moments has helped me grow my business and create such wonderful friendships. I would LOVE to get to know you and everything you're dreaming of for your session or wedding day. Connect with me on my socials & say hello! :)

Cheers to The Durays! 🕊️

Some places just feel meant to be. With railroad tracks running right through their ceremony space, this setting was already incredibly meaningful, but knowing the bride's dad spent his career working on the railroads made it all the more special. 🤎

The Durays wedding day was filled with so much laughter (and a few shots). The sweetest people, the best kind of chaos, and a whole lot of moments worth remembering. Northern Minnesota is worth all the hype. Photographing at this venue was an absolute dream, and I am happy it was paired with a dream couple too. I would happily fly anywhere to celebrate with Mady & Brandon. They know how to throw one hell of a party! And their color scheme... CHEFS KISS. Espresso martini brown paired with variations of green florals was perfection.

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Duray - let's party again soon! 🥂✨

Part two from Skylar & Billy's engagement session

We ended the day at Revolver, located in Wicker Park. It has the coolest speakeasy vibe. The black-and-white checkered floors and red velvet curtain gave a sultry, romantic feel. I am obsessed with anything that gives a hint of old Hollywood. I live for the drama!

I am SO excited for their wedding next May. Fun fact: they were the first couple to book me for 2027!

I am such a sucker for a dramatic staircase 🤌🏻✨

Part one of Skylar & Billy’s engagement session in Chicago from this past Sunday. It was so much fun exploring different parts of the city and photographing in new spots.

A sneak peek into Emma & Ryan’s wedding day 🥂✨

You know it’s a good day when you forgot to stop at 7-Eleven on the way home for free slushee day because you couldn’t stop thinking about the day!

From the moment they saw each other, it was all smiles. Their happiness was effortless, contagious, and impossible not to feel. It’s the kind of love that fills every room and reminds everyone why weddings are so special. I wish every weekend was filled with the kind of love that these two have for each other.

These are the days worth remembering — not because everything was perfect, but because they were completely, wholeheartedly present with one another. They had fun, laughed, maybe shed a few tears, and PARTIED.

Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Blowers!! I’d celebrate with you two any day of the week! 🫶🏻

Summer nights in Santorini

This past week, I had the honor of documenting Katie & Christian's elopement in Greece. It was an absolute dream (and I'm tearing up looking at their photos). It's hard to describe how magical the day was. It was simple, elegant, and filled with so much love.

I'm working on their sneak peek today and tomorrow, but I had to share these two incredible images. Vogue better be ready to publish these two!

On cloud nine with these two!

Meghan and Hunter were so sweet to hang with on Sunday evening at the beach. It felt soft and a little moody with the clouds hanging low over Lake Michigan. Genuine love like theirs is so joyful to capture. I cannot wait to celebrate with them next September on their wedding day!

So many more photos to come from Megan & Anthony’s engagement session in Grand Haven this past Saturday! I had to this photo of them during sunset on the beach. I forget how magical Michigan is in the summertime! 🌞✨

A sneak peek from Jordan & Ethan’s engagement session last night!

This spot reminds me of the iconic ceremony scene at the end of Bridesmaids. It’s historic, romantic
and makes every movement feel heartfelt. The drone images capture just how stunning the property and landscape is, while documenting the magnitude of their love. I can’t remember a time I haven’t known Jordan, as we’ve been friends since elementary school. It is so special to see her so happy and feel so loved.

From growing up to growing old, I cannot wait to see everything in between then and now for Jordan!

Life update!

On Friday, March 20th, 2026 at 4:09pm, we welcomed our beautiful girl, Leona Lynne Carlson into the world. At birth, she weighed 7lbs 13oz and was 21 inches long.

We are so in love with her, and I cannot wait to take pictures of her as she grows up (perks of having a mom that’s a photographer)!
