MIOPS - Smart+ Trigger & Splash Photography is an art form that allows us to capture a brief moment in time and share the beauty of the world with those around us. Each photograph may impact the person viewing it differently by interacting with our own life experiences. An image may bring back memories or
emotions and the image that one person loves, the next may not. A photograph may look perfectly developed to one person but may appear dull or over-processed to the next. As an artist, the photographer decides how to develop and share each image with the world. To start I would like to address what I view as a myth in photography, the concept of "no filter" photography. There is no such thing, and I would argue there never has been. From the birth of photography the photographer has chosen their camera, film type, exposure settings, developing process, and then print media. In the past 200 years each has significantly evolved, but choices made at each step are still what creates the final image. Every image is "filtered" by the camera system used, the exposure settings chosen, the development process, and then the media it is shared by. If decisions are made at each step to try to recreate the scene as close to how it naturally was, then the image was developed with those "filters" used. If decisions are made along the way to create a more artistic rendering of the scene, then those "filters" were used, and the sum of all these choices is what makes each image a unique piece of art. I hope you enjoy the photographs I have chosen to share on this page, I am always open to feedback but ask that you be respectful at all times.
