This 4 -1/2 second exposure calmed the tumultuous Lake Michigan waves into a mystic haze on America's 3rd coast.

On point with last night's 99.6% full July Buck Moon and St Joseph's own Whitcomb tower. It's been almost two years since I last shot the Whitcomb and moon. I noticed the right side antenna tower is now missing its tall antenna, maybe it was removed or it broke off? It always made for a great silhouette. 😕

There are instances where the alignment required for a shot is impossible, yet the mental image persists in my head. To bring these visions to life, I occasionally use my in-camera double exposure, ensuring the viewer is aware of the creative process. This approach allows me to experiment and share the results when they are noteworthy.

For this particular image, the moon was situated in the southeast sky, with the Mackinac Bridge located opposite. After capturing the moon, I repositioned myself, adjusted my camera settings, and took a second shot with the moon aligned with the bridge, letting the camera merge the two exposures into a single cohesive image.
