These sessions will take place in a beautiful studio in Gibsonville and will feature a fun back-to-school setup complete with a backdrop, school desk, and adorable classroom-inspired details—perfect for capturing this special milestone before the new school year begins!

🫀 Big Axel Update & Fundraiser Announcement 🫀

We wanted to share an important update on sweet Axel’s heart journey.

We are still in a waiting period regarding his heart surgery, but the plans have changed significantly. At his most recent cardiology appointment, his incredible cardiologist—who has cared for him since before he was born—recommended seeking a second opinion. The original recommendation involved a partial heart transplant, which is still a very new procedure and felt like a significant risk for Axel.

After reviewing his medical records and imaging, the team at Boston Children’s Hospital shared wonderful news: they believe they can repair Axel’s heart without needing a transplant. After many discussions with his care team, Alyx and her family have decided to move forward with Boston’s recommendations.

This means Axel and his family will be traveling to Boston for surgery and will need to remain there throughout his recovery until he is stable enough to make the journey home. They anticipate being away for approximately a month. While this next chapter feels overwhelming, they know this path gives Axel the best opportunity for a healthy future.

The surgeon assigned to Axel is one of Boston Children’s top specialists, and Boston is nationally recognized for its expertise in both congenital heart defects and esophageal atresia, giving the family confidence that Axel will receive exceptional care every step of the way.

CMS Photography is honored to host a “Pay What You Can” Mini Session Weekend to support Axel and his family during this journey.

📸 Mini sessions will be offered throughout an entire weekend with multiple time slots available.

Dates: June 27th-28th,July 5th
Time frame: 20 mins

Every dollar collected will be donated directly to Alyx and her family to help offset travel expenses, lodging, meals, medical costs, and time away from home while they focus on Axel’s recovery.

No donation is too small. If you’ve been looking for updated family photos, couples photos, maternity photos, or simply want a way to support this amazing family, this is a wonderful opportunity to do both.
