Today I’d like to share how I creatively look at photographs after I take them.
I took a landscape shot of the lake on my previous post, except I didn’t really like the composition of the shot. Before I throw away any of my photos, I always look through them in different perspectives, especially landscape shots since there’s so many possibilities to crop them for Instagram. What I did was zoom in throughout the image until I found a composition that was usable in my opinion. The lonely cabin almost engulfed by towering trees on the other side of the motionless lake provided a clean opportunity to create something new, out of something that was originally trash. I felt emotions in this composition, emotions on how I’d love to travel to places like this all around. While editing this shot I looked at inspiration from ’s and ’s work. The simplicity of Alex’s work, with the crisp colors and tones Glenn incorporates in his work. Point being, don’t always assume an image is garbage, without fully seeing ALL of its contents.
