Bayou Rose Photo Wedding, family, children, and special needs photography in Baton Rouge, Ascension, and surrounding areas. That's the short and sweet version.

I'm a photographer in the south Louisiana area (who also travels), and I photograph weddings, children, families and events. I love what I do - nothing makes me happier than capturing a tiny little moment in time that will live forever as a memory on paper (assuming you get your photos printed, which you SHOULD). Just like any other story, though, who I am as a photographer is more complex than ju

st the bare details. I could tell you what gear I shoot with, how many years I've been at it, my *favorite* thing to shoot, and whatever else you came here looking for. What I want you to know most about me, though, is the goal that I have in mind every single time I pack up my bag (okay, fine, *bags*, plural -- because I'm a horrible over-packer) before any kind of shoot:

I want you to be able to hold a memory in your hand when we're done, and I want you to have a good time creating it with me. My absolute favorite photographs are the ones which have the power to transport me back to the moment the shutter was released - I can feel the emotion in them, and that's what I want to give my clients more than anything else.

1) When the proposee is GENUINELY shocked and surprised when the question gets popped 🥹

2) When the proposer is a 💯 sweetheart who is down for WHATEVER photos his girl wants because he's just happy to see her happy. 🫶🏻

3) When they're BOTH super cool and willing to play in the rain for some photos when the skies open up approximately 2.5 seconds after the "Yes!" 😅

(Also, I'm grateful for covered awnings and lighting skills, because when I tell you it was POURING out there... 😅)

Guys, I *for sure* cried my eyes out (and all of my makeup off) at this very special graduation ceremony today. I'm so proud to be a part of the Spartan Nation all year, but especially at times like this. went above and beyond to give Jordan and his family a graduation experience that fit his needs and allowed him to be celebrated for exactly who he is. Let's talk about acrocyanosis!

If you've gone to count all of your newborns fingers and little toe beans, you may have noticed (maybe with some alarm) that their little hands and feet are dusky/pale, blue, or purple.

It's totally natural to be a little freaked out by this--but it's actually your baby's body doing its job well!

When your baby is born, their circulatory system has to figure out a LOT of very complicated things, very quickly, to adjust to the outside world. After birth, all of that good, oxygen-rich blood starts pumping first to all of the important organs in the center of their little bodies--knowing that the extremities can catch up later. The good news is that this usually resolves in 24-48 hours, once baby's body has figured things out!

So, if your baby's trunk is red just after birth, but their hands and feet are purple...just know that nature is busy doing it's job! ❤️
